Wait until the season is over before you melt

Chambliss was always a long shot.
Would’ve loved to have Lacy, but Berry is a fine RB to anchor that room.
The only real bummer so far is missing out on Sorsby & probably Coleman.
We will take at least 2 QBs, and if Leavitt is your top guy we probably need to temper expectations for 2026 — but this isn’t 2020.
Football ops is in good shape, staff is in great shape, and even if there are some growing pains, we won’t be losing 6 games again.
Portal closes 1/16 for entries, but players in postseason get +5 days from their last game.
ETA: Deadline to sign is 2/4, which means we have about a full month before the dust settles.

We have until the 16th to get a bulk of our roster together. We aren’t exactly off to a great start. But things could change swiftly.

Wrong. Players can sign well past the 16th. That is the deadline to enter the portal, not to sign.

Lol sour grapes. Leavitt wasn’t better than Sorsby when Leavitt was healthy.
I trust Kiffin completely here, and he will probably develop some more but this is a fact.
They’re both run-first QBs, but Sorsby has the edge as a passing QB by a long shot & then throw the foot injury on top.

I forget, what’s the rule for playoff teams? The Championship game is on the 19th. When is their deadline to enter the portal and do they have to sign by the same date as others?

This is all in the op. Deadline to enter is 1/16 or 5 days after your last game if you are still in contention 1/11.
Deadline to sign is 2/4 (signing day).

It’s basically a month excluding guys still playing, and those negotiations usually start prior to any official movement.
It’s not like they’re going to overlook it and forget to fill the depth chart. It’ll be fine

A lot will panic anyway but mostly by the posters who were saying blindly in Lane we trust forgetting a couple of years ago they were saying Alignment. You wont stop emotional people. Those who really follow sports know its a process.

We have 26 players. We have 14 early signers. 3 portal commitments.
Now we need to temper our expectations?
Having an expensive staff isn’t anything to brag about considering we have roughly 1/3 of the players allowed by the NCAA.
But don’t misunderstand, I’m not melting. I knew this was going to be the messiest transition ever. I hope we come out the other side competitive. But the reality is it likely won’t be this year. Maybe not next either.
