Will be nothing more than pedestrian itself. He's a really good back, but 2 million is kind of wild. No doubt, I think we all wouldn't love to have him on the roster. I just keep asking myself how good of a back is he outside of that system? Guys like Leonard fournette or Bijon Robinson are just different. So many guys are successful because of the system they're in. An average coordinator on an average offense turns Lacey into just another back. So go ahead and let little brother U overpay out of spite. It will only hurt them. Whatever Lacey has that made him so coveted by Ole Miss is reproducible and available elsewhere. Kiffin and staff have proven an eye for that.

Well that's my rationalization anyway. Would love to have him but he is not essential at that price

Any Ole Miss player on offense would be dumb to stay after this season. Gonna tank their draft stocks for a small increase in pay for a season

I'm fine with Harlem Berry being the featured back in Kiffin's offense. We still need to add a couple more though.

Why do you assume Lane would have a pedestrian offense?

Im glad we haven’t blown money just to do it it so far. In an ideal world, you do exactly what ole miss has been doing under Kiffin, but you have the additional funds to secure more depth and a couple more impact guys. Kiffin kind of took shots at us for having the most expensive DB room in CFB and he was apparently in on all of those transfers before getting priced out. Just think if he had the money to land Delane and Haulcey.

Paying 2 million dollars for a RB is stupid anyhow.

That's my point. He's tailor made for Kiffin/Weiss offense. He may not fourish in the next scheme at Ole Miss. In fact, I think he'd be making a bad decision to stay at Ole Miss. If they want to empty the bank, let em
