Recs for a week long summer lake/river trip for 3 young families?

Group of us were thinking about renting a house this summer for a week on a lake or on a river. We are pretty spread out (Nola, Georgia, KC, Houston) so there’s not a specific area I have in mind since some will most likely need to fly
3 of the guys have multiple young kids so it’d be more of a family style trip than just adults if that matters
I’ve spent summers my entire life in the Texas hill country and the Austin area lakes, but was curious if there are any other good places we should look at? Arkansas probably has some good options right? Anywhere in north Texas/oklahoma? Floating a river sounds pretty fun as well

Northern Michigan.
Traverse City area or anywhere from Tawas to to Mackinaw City on the other side.

I would suggest you look into Beavers Bend State Park in Broken Bow, OK. They have a lake and a river to explore. Lots of hiking trails also if you want to try those. There are tons of cabin rentals in the area to stay in so you could potentially rent a large one and all stay in it together. The town is small and there’s not a lot to do there, but the state park was nice and way better than I expected.

North Georgia, NC, Tenn will probably be 10-15 deg cooler than somewhere in TX or OK, if that’s an issue.

I consider the Cahaba Lily bloom to be the number one natural wonder in Alabama. Bloom is between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
There was a poster on the Outdoor Board that had a house on the Cahaba River in Centerville, AL. Perfect access to the best Cahaba Lily float through the refuge, but also has access to the second best float on the Little Cahaba River.
Fishing is amazing.

Not sure why you are getting down votes.
Hot springs has fair bit to do in the water at lake.hamilton plus surrounding area(magic springs, bath houses, observatory, etc).

Lake Hamilton is a shite show in the summer. Boat traffic everywhere driven by a bunch of drunk idiot tourists that drive boats once a year.
Most scared I've ever been on a lake was there and I keep my boat on Lake Austin.

The Red Rived in the back of Echo in Avoyelles is nice in the late summer. Stay at the casino.

Table rock lake as someone mentioned above is also a good option with much to do in the Branson area for all ages.
