Let me start by saying I’m someone who believes 90 percent of what is on the internet is pure BS.
Do you know of any legit resources for what supplements are good and safe for particular goals / conditions?
For example, I’m looking to improve circulation. What supplements should I consider?
Of course this is in addition to a good diet and exercise.
I’ve discussed this with both my Primary doc and my cardiologist. Both of them essentially refused to discuss supplements with me. They work for the same medical group (Ochsner) so I don’t know if it’s a company thing to not discuss.

Nitric Oxide. Something like L-Citrulline. Do your research and try a little at a time.
Beets and beet-juice, it tastes like crap though.
Pomegranate juice, the real stuff. Watch out for the stuff loaded down with sugar and other additives.
YMMV

Nitric Oxide.
I’ve read some stuff on this. In relation to cayenne / capsaicin
Do you know anything about that?

I love citrulline. I’m starting it again for my elbow tendinitis:
quote:
Citrulline may help improve tendinitis by enhancing blood flow and promoting healing through its role in increasing nitric oxide levels, which can support tissue regeneration.

This is very interesting. Doing a little reading on it, it seems to help with blood flow.
quote:
1. Cayenne Pepper
The spicy flavor that is possessed by cayenne pepper results from capsaicin. Capsaicin happens to be very effective in the promotion of blood circulation to your tissues. It does this by reducing your blood pressure and triggering nitric oxide release, as well as, other blood vessel expanding compounds (Vasodilators). This increases blood flow by causing the muscles in the walls of your blood vessels to relax.

Find a functional medicine clinic/practitioner.
I recently started with one someone on here mentioned.
She put together a protocol for diet and supplements.
Its early but I'm impressed so far.

Cardio is the best thing for circulation.
