History book on The Crusades

I'm looking for a book, or author, with a bare bones historical account of the Crusades. It is a very touchy subject because of religion, so emotions are hard to contain when talking about it, I understand that. That's why I am here at the librarian's desk privately and respectfully asking. I want the most boring, emotionless account of the battles that took place. Names, dates, places - just the police report with no unnecessary adjectives. Anyone have a good recommendation ?

Thomas asbridge - the crusades is where you should start . Really liked it
I tried to read Dan jones-crusaders and got like halfway through and quit because his style he tries so hard to be quirky and modern for widespread digestion. Didn’t care for it at all
