I am looking for a good location for a 10 year anniversary trip preferably in the US and out of the southeast. Wife and I have enjoyed trips to both Ashville and Chicago so we are pretty open to any type of area just looking for some suggestions. The trip would most likely be in November or early December.

Utah, if you go in November would be cool, snow possible. Beautiful state.

We went to Vail for 5 days last January for our anniversary trip and didn't ski once. Some cool things to do...

-Horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow (even better with a candlelit dinner)
-Couples spa day with massage + hot tubs/steam rooms
-Ride Gondola One at sunset for mountain views and photos
-Ice skating hand-in-hand in Vail Village or Lionshead
-Dog sledding for a once-in-a-lifetime winter experience
-Cozy up at a fireside après-ski bar (even if you didn’t ski)
-Snowshoeing on quiet scenic trails together
-Fine-dining anniversary dinner in Vail Village
-Hot springs day trip to Glenwood Springs
-Winter stargazing on a clear mountain night
-Browse art galleries & boutiques in Vail Village
-Wine bar or tasting at an intimate lounge
-Snowmobile tour for a fun, adventurous half-day
-Relax with hot chocolate or mulled wine at a café
-Take a scenic winter drive through Vail Pass or to Beaver Creek

We are going to Chicago in a few weeks for our anniversary. We have some things planned but open to other ideas if they seem more intriguing.

What all did you guys do there? bars, restaurants, activities, etc.

Does San Antonio qualify as out of the Southeast? Weather could still be pleasant in November and December.

Probably rule Texas out to we have been all over eastern Texas and to Austin and Fredericksburg. Usually looking for a new place Utah is a good suggestion I was there in early Oct for work wife has never been.

Few years back wife & I stayed in Stowe, VT, during Mardi Gras.

Bonus part we flew in and out of Montreal so we stayed there two days on the way back.

Guess that' rule out recommending going to Hedonism II.

So, my thoughts would be for November/early December...

One of our favorite locations was going to Monterey CA. It'd be an ideal anniversary destination, offering dramatic California coastlines and a relaxed atmosphere, especially in November or December. With fewer crowds and stunning sunsets, you can enjoy cozy B&Bs, waterfront walks, Carmel’s village, and scenic drives down Big Sur—all conveniently close for a romantic, stress-free getaway.

Old Monterey Inn

Green Gables Inn

Or stay near Big Sur and Carmel. We did day trips here FYI. It'd give you dramatic coastal scenery, cooler weather perfect for hiking, quieter roads and trails, and a mix of luxury hotels and cozy coastal towns. It’s one of the best shoulder-season destinations in the U.S. for couples who want a blend of nature, great food, and a relaxed pace.

Ventana Big Sur Inn

We liked Sedona AZ. Offers a convenient anniversary escape with stunning red-rock views, excellent food, and relaxing resorts. November and early December provide cool, sunny weather without crowds. For luxury, try L’Auberge de Sedona or Enchantment Resort; for affordable style near shops and restaurants, Amara Resort and El Portal are good options.
