Heading out to Hilton Head later in the spring.
For those of you who've been/played out there, looking for recs to play in that area for 3 different days/rounds.

Try Old South Golf Links.
Really nice course to mix in a trip.
The pro is Jim Uremovich. He played baseball for the Tigers.
Really good guy.

We're looking at going in the spring and was pretty shocked that Harbor Town is running up to $700 a round. You could do a whole winter trip at Bandon for that.

Definitely depends on your price point. I’d recommend playing one of the three Sea Pines courses. Looks like Harbour Town is double the price of Atlantic Dunes or Heron Point.
If you can’t swing HT, I recommend Atlantic Dunes over Heron. Being a Pete Dye course, Heron’s greens are very small. If you don’t play Harbour Town, at least stop by the clubhouse.
Atlantic and Heron share a clubhouse. Fraser’s Tavern at the clubhouse is a great meal.
I had a tee time at Palmetto Dunes Fazio course but got rained out.
I’m jealous…let me know if you need a 4th. ??

Have only played HT. $400 worth it, $700 is tough. Would play Ocean Course for that....maybe.
Clubhouse is awesome, food is really good at HT

I've played Palmetto Dunes and Bear Creek. Personally I loved Bear Creek because I could actually swing my driver. A lot of Hilton Head courses are target golf/dog legs. It's been a long time since I've been though to be honest.

You have to play Harbor Town, don’t worry about the price! Top notch, and it’s so much better without the grandstands. And you need to to play it with the wind.

I enjoyed HT, but it wasn’t a $700 course. Playing 18 with the lighthouse is as iconic as any hole in golf. But outside of that, the only thing to get excited about is the par 3s. As a group, they are fantastic. Only 17 & 18 are on the sound. So for $700 you get 5 great holes.

I will be in Hilton Head around the end of March and I am expecting them to have the grandstands up by not certain. Would you think they'd be up then? Currently planning to skip HT because of the grandstands + price

Grew up in the area and have gone on several buddies trips to HHI over the years.
The first questions I would ask is where are you staying? It matters; for example, Old South Golf Links and Hilton Head National are actually not on the island and can be a bitch to get to for an early morning tee time. Traffic is horrendous even with the bypass.
After you nail down where you are staying, I’d pick golf courses relatively close by. We used to stay at Palmetto Dunes and play all 3 of their courses and got a really good deal for our group of 12-16. Is anyone a member at a private club? If so, ask your pro to call to see if he can get you on Long Cove Club. Best course on the island by far and I’ve played them all. Each plantation has 1-2 tracks that are decent. I like Indigo Run and Port Royal as well. Shipyard and Wexford are okay.

Yes the grandstands should be at least started by end of March. Tournament isn’t until third weekend in April so they may be done.

Thanks. That’s what I assumed. I’ve been going back and forth with myself for a week deciding on whether or not to play at Harbour Town. I don’t see myself back in Hilton Head for years and the only other PGA tour course I have played is TPC Louisiana

Highly recommend playing the Monday after the event. Tee markers and hole locations are left in the Sunday spots and it’s a ball trying to play the course in tournament condition. I did it for 5-6 years and had a ball.

Yeah that sounds great but sadly I won't be in Hilton Head after the RBC

thats kind of where the thinking is heading. we're staying at Sonesta Resort, which has Shipyard on/near it i believe, one of the RTJ courses just up a bit, and on the top of the island looks like oyster reef. those are 3 i'm considering. any other recs for that area that would be considred "can't miss", i'm open for more suggestion. not going until memorial day weekend and 4 rounds is the goal. 2 in 1 day, and then 1/day the next 2 days.

Ok, so looking at where Sonesta is, Oyster Reef is every bit of 30 minutes away. I’d scratch that. Shipyard, RTJ and Wexford or Sea Pines would be good choices. Double check your dates as well; most all the HHI courses aerate just after Memorial Day.
