No motive listed, but this makes me think the dude may have been schizo.
I'm not sure how threatening someone while carrying a gun and also saying you're going to shoot up the police office aren't grounds to arrest someone.

According to SLED, the suspect 42-year-old David William Lane drove up next to an officer sitting in a patrol car and fired what investigators believe to be incendiary rounds, ‘designed to inflict maximum damage.’

The officer was hurt and taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for his injuries. He has since been released and is recovering at home with his family.
Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis said following the ambush, law enforcement was able to find the suspect’s vehicle on Roper Mountain Road and a brief chase began.
The sheriff said the chase ended in an officer-involved shooting just after 3 a.m. near the intersection of Independence Boulevard and Ponders Ray Lane.
Lane was pronounced dead at the scene around 4:26 a.m. on Sunday. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office determined he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The sheriff’s office mentioned that it is familiar with Lane after receiving multiple complaints about him
No motive listed, but this makes me think the dude may have been schizo.
quote:
The mother said Lane began threatening her daughter and others at the apartment at the beginning of January.
The woman said Lane believed her daughter’s security cameras, and others at the apartment, were watching him. She said Lane began carrying a gun around the property, looking in her daughter’s windows and threatening her.
At one point, the mother said Lane told her daughter he would “shoot up the sheriff’s office” then come back to the apartment and kill her.
I'm not sure how threatening someone while carrying a gun and also saying you're going to shoot up the police office aren't grounds to arrest someone.

SC state law explicitly bans the possession, use, transportation, manufacture, distribution, sale, or purchase of incendiary ammunition.
Guess that law didn't work.... must need more laws.

What rounds are there designed to inflict minimum damage? Just regular hot lead?

Are those dragon’s breath rounds?
I didn’t think those had projectiles in them.

What is amazing is the police forces that are kowtowing to the left - like Minneapolis. Chicago, Seattle etc. Once they are no longer needed they will be killed.
