What Washington knows about Iran’s inner workings thus largely arrives pre-filtered — validated, caveated, and laundered — through Israel’s intelligence apparatus. That dependence is never acknowledged publicly, because acknowledging it would raise uncomfortable questions about whose threat perceptions are shaping U.S. policy.
Yet Pompeo said the quiet part out loud: the United States does not have any meaningfully human intelligence inside Iran. When even a former CIA director speaks about Iran as a spectator rather than a principal, the admission is structural.

That's not how it works lol. We don't have Americans in baseball caps running around there. Most all human intelligence comes from locals being paid by CIA.
