Good luck. I'm going to sneak off work early to catch the last 1-2 hours of legal light if all goes well. Some real nice weather is in store.

Back at it this evening. 52°.
I must have worked myself too hard the past week, because I couldn’t get out of bed this morning. Ended up sleeping until 11am, got myself a good lunch, and had the boat in the water at 1:00.
The spot I was heading to would’ve been too hard to get to, and almost impossible to get a deer out of. So I turned around and came to another spot I wanted to check out. The water being down makes things so much harder because you can’t get the boat to the bank in most places.
I’m set up about a mile off the canal, on the edge of a bottom that runs from the private, into the public. Found a few scrapes on the edge of it, so we’ll see what happens. I might even smoke a doe just to break the ice and hopefully this curse I have on me

I made it into a food plot about 20 minutes ago with my 30-06. Wind is crappy and I forgot to wear my lucky boxers today although nothing I've worn lately has brought me any luck. Weather app says 18 MPH wind gusts and that seems accurate based on observations. Temperature is 41 and should be close to mid 30s before end of legal shooting light.
I have a Mr Buddy heater I'm going to fire up soon. I feel a little dirty hunting with one but at the same time wonder why it took me until last season to ever use one while hunting.
