18 U.S.C. § 793 (part of the Espionage Act), which prohibits the unauthorized gathering, transmission, or disclosure of information "relating to the national defense" when the discloser has reason to believe it could harm the United States or benefit a foreign nation.This covers documents, plans, or information that the possessor knows (or should know) is sensitive.
Willfully communicating or transmitting such material to unauthorized persons (which includes the public via a live stream) can lead to up to 10 years in federal prison and/or fines
