The school was on lockdown. Something about a gun.

This morning, Dutchtown High School went into a lockdown after a student brought a firearm on campus. Due to the quick and coordinated actions of the school administration and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, the student was immediately taken into custody. All students and staff are safe.
APSO did a sweep of the campus and has deemed it safe. We will be lifting the lockdown, and the school will be resuming normal operations.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we worked to ensure the safety of everyone on campus. Additional information will be shared if necessary.

I pulled my son out of Dutchtown because of stuff like this. There's a lot of stuff that goes on there that gets swept under the rug - ODs in the bathroom, rampant alcohol/drug use, etc.

It’s not specific to this high school, it’s AP in general. They work HARD to keep up the perception that they’re special. So much gets swept under the rug.
My sister teaches at Dutchtown and she said that a kid pulled a gun on another student. All good now.
