Is it legal for local law enforcement

To arrest federal agents? When those said agents are enforcing the law?
I just saw the Tweet where the Philly DA is threatening exactly that.
SlowFlo or any other lawyers want to chime in on this?
Because to me this is mind blowing.

Of course not, but the ones saying that should be arrested for obstruction.

They can arrest anyone but also face consequences of an illegal arrest, crimes they commit, and violation of civil rights. What gives a local cop who works for the mayor the right to interfere with federal law enforcement activities? Notice how it’s never the sheriff or county cops, it’s always city.

For everyone sayjng no, if a Federal agent is driving drunk can local police arrest them? I feel like the obvious answer is yes. Are you asking a more direct question, like can they arrest a federal agent for federally lawful actions? Obviously, the charges would get tossed in that scenario.

That is not true.
Diplomats, Heads of State, legislators etc...
Cannot be arrested.
Can a local officer pull a gun and hold them hostage.
Sure, but its not legal, they arent being arrested, but kidnapped.
Same as trying to arrest a federal officer performing his duties.

Exactly. The simple is yes they can arrest them if they are breaking the law. Being a federal agent isn’t doesn’t give them immunity.
The crux of it is if they are actually breaking the law or not.

I specifically said while they're enforcing the law.
I guess my point is, how do these idiots get away with saying this, when doing so (the arrest) wouldn't hold up in court?
Again just mind blowing to me.

No need for that. Just go ask AI. You’ll get an answer and it won’t be argumentative about it.

There's morons in this thread that think being a federal agent absolves one of all crimes.

Well it depends on what law the local cops are enforcing. Like I said, if it's federally lawful, but locally unlawful. No. This isn't difficult.

There are idiots in this thread that think a city cop can arrest an ICE officer for
carrying out his orders.
These same people think that Leftists have a constitutional right to riot
It’s crazy

No one has said that...blatant lie.
The OP SPECIFICALLY said while performing their job lawfully.
Of course they could be arrested if they break the law,

I'm a fed and my chain of command has told us repeatedly that if a local tries to arrest us in the commission of our duties, we are not to entertain them. We are told not to fight back but not to comply with their commands either. We have been instructed to continue our enforcement actions, ignore them and call our Special Agent in Charge directly.

You can be doing doing your job while also breaking the law. This isn't fricking difficult. Just because they are doing their job doesn't mean they couldn't be breaking a different law for which they can be arrested. Being on the job doesn't absolve you of your crimes.
Why is this so difficult to understand.

You’re seriously comparing the arrest of a federal agent driving drunk to the arrest of a federal agent enforcing established federal law voted in by Democrats AND Republicans?

Yes.

No. They don't have to assist, but they can't interfere.

I would argue that some of these Dem politicians and media figures are way over the line and should be arrested for inciting a riot.
