Why was Lane so merciful?

Why didn’t he raid the Ole Miss roster for talent like Lacy? He lends his coaches, and decides to keep the program intact? Why?

That playoff game gave them an extra week to play on their loyalties. And he knows what he had maybe he didn’t want any of them either except for a couple.

Well on the bright side, the Ole Miss rivalry means something for once on the LSU side.
Unlike Alabama, where it’s going to feel like playing Vanderbilt. Just get it over with. Shame they didn’t keep that game.

LSU's King Lane is merciful, but not to Ole Piss!

Lane is as benevolent as he is prodigious as he is funny.

$$$, is the answer. Kiffin made big bucks by lending out the assistant coaches.

Lane grew up a lot. At least in my opinion he has. He was really invested in Ole Miss obviously. He wanted to finish out the season (At least this is what we're told). So in order to save face a little, let's keep it cordial. Now the media and Ole Miss decided to turn it all around, even though other coaches around the country did the same thing.

What year was the game that Les had us taking a knee relatively early in the second half against Piss? They were extra salty over that. I think it was 13’ when the Ole Miss QB was hearing it on the bench from fans all night and ran off the field like a giant puss after we beat the then #3 Piss Rebels

I think that was 2011. Mettenberger was 3rd string Qb that year and when the game got out of hand Miles put him in with specific instructions on the kind of plays he wanted run so as not to run up the score needlessly. Mettenberger audibled to something he didnt like so he forced him to kneel on it from the 2 yard line to punish him.

Well he already took coaches and loaned them back. The portal opened before the CFP and I think he has respect for OM and the players to not do that. Now if the players jump in after the CFP then it is fair game but you don't want to be seen causing even more chaos in the team leading up to the CFP by trying to poach players and being even more of a distraction.
Its just common courtesy and respect for the organization.

Lane’s silence and patience is driving them absolutely insane.
No mistakes or tweets by Lane for them to point at and say “see, we told you” to the rest of cfb is beautiful.
They are revealing themselves and are losing support from outsiders day by day.

You saw how much he was crucified even when he tried to be nice on the way out. You can imagine the backlash if he had been a horse’s rear on the way out.
