We watched Jurassic World - Rebirth last night

what a piece of shite. How did this series that was such a great thing turn to total crap like that. Unreal. I could not even believe how bad it was and I was expecting it to be bad
I am typically not even critical of movies. I am easily entertained but that should be embarrassing to the people who made the good JP movies

There was only one really good one. The rest are either mediocre but entertaining or complete shite or somewhere in between.
And even the first one had some ridiculous moments.

The JW movies not only fail to capture the spirit of the original they fail to capture the suspense of even the other two JP films.
This scene alone beats out any scene from JW films and this was from Lost World

Can you imagine retards trying to recreate this scene in a JW movie? It would be pure CGI chaos... Pterodactyls would swoop in just as the raptors are arriving. A royal rumble would ensue while the characters defy gravity to escape seconds before the Mosasaur emerges and swallows the trailer and warring animals whole.
Oh, and it would take place in broad daylight and the characters would look like plastic smurfs due to the blue hue from the over saturated color grading.

Rebirth is better than every Jurassic World entry from the previous era. I know this because each of those Pratt movies was the worst Hollywood movie released in its respective year.
Rebirth was in the bottom 10 of 2025, but not all the way at the bottom (Thanks, The Electric State!). Slight improvement.

Although Fallen Kingdom and Dominion were terrible movies, the premise of releasing dinosaurs worldwide opened up so many interesting possibilities for the series. Instead, we got this half baked paint by numbers crap because Universal knows they can put CGI dinos on the screen and make an easy billion. As long as you can do that, why put any real effort into the film?

The last 2 were so bad they had to kill that premise for good, and that's a large part of what this movie did. Dominion was so fricking terrible that is the movie who derailed the plot possibilities you referenced.
It even was cheeky in how it dealt with the over-reliance on raptors from the previous movies.

It's clearly better than the 2nd 2.
The first one got a lot of praise because it was a competent entry after an abortion, relying on a remake/homage framing, like TFA with Star Wars. I'm not going to argue that Rebirth is definitively better but it's closer than people like to admit. It's also better than JP3.
There is only one really good JP movie but people pretend like there are multiple entries. After the first one it's sorting through various levels of shite.

If they could’ve taken the first half of Fallen Kingdom and the second half of Dominion, they could’ve made a pretty badass movie. But instead we got hours of nonsensical, unentertaining bullshite.
I’m a huge JP/JW fan, but man some huge parts of those movies are just not very good. And Rebirth was just weird and almost laughable.
