Modern Italian restaurant in Bywater. This is a collab with Rebecca Wilcomb (opening chef of Gianna which I thought was just ok) and Marcus Jacobs (Marjie’s Grill, which I liked a lot).
Been hearing very good things about it for awhile but every time I look on a few days notice it’s booked. So I did book this about 3-4 weeks ago.
This is in the old The Franklin space. They did a really nice job with the space opening it up a bit. Very vibe feel to it. Place was packed, every seat at the bar was taken, every table filled.
Wine list was relatively well priced for what restaurants are charging now, but I guess that isn’t saying much these days. Heavy focus on Italian wines and Europe, it was well appointed in my opinion. Some really interesting options.
Wife and just shared a few things. Yellowtail crudo was really nice with a hint of spice. Oyster Mushroom dish was a stunner. I didn’t expect much and it was delicious. Confit duck was expertly done, however the vinaigrette with the greens with it was a bit aggressive to me. The grilled polenta was really good and interesting but lacked salt.
All in all I recommend. It was a very good meal.

Glad to hear. I don’t get to that part of town often, but this one is on my shortlist. Atmosphere and food look/sound great.

It’s very good. Marcus Jacobs is top notch. Miss Margie’s and his pop-ups at Pal’s on Monday’s. Had a very short stint at The Bell (which kind of like) before opening Eviva. Loved Wilcomb at Herbsaint. Her time at Gianna was not good. Tried to do the food of Lombardy and ended up with too many bland en brodo dishes. Gianna is much better now.
Anyway, the envivia collaboration appears to be working. Been three times since it opened last summer and better each time.

Thanks for your input. Any standouts you’ve had there in the past?

They were just nominated for a James Beard, Best New Restaurant.

They don't have a menu on their website
Really nothing is there
How am I supposed to know what they have? IG?

There are sample menus online that google has. However, they do change the menu often. Almost none of the things I had were on the online menus I found

No? There’s nothing strange about it and it’s not a vendetta. I just think it’s a bad restaurant.
It also gets the Metry folk extremely bent out of shape when I say it so I keep doing it because it’s funny. You even brought it up in a thread nothing to do with it.
