Had a good brunch meal there today. Scrambled eggs, string hash browns, sausage patty and biscuit. Restaurant’s been around for years, always solid.

I think it's very underrated around BR. They have my favorite fried shrimp in town by far. I am usually pretty skeptical of big and busy menus, but somehow they pull it off. Their sweet potato hush puppies are just fantastic.

They’ve been great for years, I don’t go as much as I should!

My first job was at the O’Neal location in 2006-2007.
Cheesecakes were out of this world.
Hope the owner got his demons sorted but my understanding is that never happened

Hah, good to know. I always assumed it was gross because I've never heard a single friend or acquaintance talk about going or suggest we go there.

It's not bad, it's just not exciting. It's "old people food". Fried fish, grilled meats, baked potatoes, all done well but not done in any way that's different from dozens of other old school restaurants. No fusion cuisine, no weird seasonings or sauces, no distressed wood burlap Edison bulb gentrification burgers, etc. I've eaten there a few times. It never wows me, it never disappoints, it's just a solid restaurant that's been around for a long time where the average diner is over 60 years old.

Food is good the owner is the problem…he is an old man with way to many issues… he’s been his own worst enemy since high school….
