I love me some coaches who love to recruit and I think I will learn to love coaches who can turn the guys who I have no idea about it into names that I know and recognize even more than that. Hankton was not a bad recruiter but he couldn't develop. In this day and age give me the developer

I love that they’re hitting the I-20 corridor in North Tx and North La. Lots of talent.

Yep. Underutilized area, and lots of the guys from up there end up panning out to be significant contributors.

Well this wasn’t true. Frank Wilson had to do most of the heavy lifting for Hankton. Ohio State has no idea what they’re bringing aboard.

Feel like the new staff is out to prove they made the right decision to come and also being transparent with the fan base that they’re doing so.

Glasscock and staff will evaluate the portal and let the coaches go into the schools and build the connections.

And how would you know this? Looking at 24/7's recruiter rankings and looking at Hankton, he was responsible for Phillip Wright, Jalen Brown, Kylan Billiot, Jabari Mack, Jelani Watkins, Kyle Parker and Taron Francis. He also got George Pickens for UGA. He wasn't bad...I know he wasnt great but he wasnt bad.

We've all seen worse, James Cregg and his inability to recruit comes to mind and ofcourse Kerry Cooks as well he was alright, not great atleast IMO

At least if you judge him based on results, Hankton was a terrible recruiter lol.

In his very first LSU class (which in all fairness was not recruited until late in the cycle), here are the WRs we signed: Landon Ibieta (3*, unranked)

In his first full cycle (2023), here are the WRs we signed: Jalen Brown (4*, #91 overall, #14 WR), Shelton Sampson (4*, #140 overall, #21 WR), Kyle Parker (4*, unranked overall, #53 WR).

In 2024, here are the WRs we signed: Kylan Billiot (4*, #64 overall, #13 WR), Jelani Watkins (4*, #122 overall, #23 WR), michael turner (4*, #229 overall, would've been WR #37 had he been listed as a WR)

In 2025, here are the WRs we signed: Taron Francis (4*, #183 overall, #20 WR), Phillip Wright (4*, unranked overall, #37 WR)

In 2026, here are the WRs who were committed at the time the BK firing was announced: Kenny Darby (4*, #203 overall, #27 WR), Jabari Mack (4*, #234 overall, #31 WR).

If you count the 2026 commitments as a class, that's 4.5 recruiting cycles' worth of WR recruiting under hankton. Those 4.5 cycles netted:

--11 total WRs (2.25 per year)

--0 5-stars / 10 4-stars / 1 3-star

--0 guys in the top 50 overall / 2 guys in the top 100 overall / 5 guys in the top 200 overall

--0 top-10 WRs / 3 top-20 WRs (one of whom was literally #20)

That's right: In his entire tenure, Hankton landed a grand total of THREE WRs ranked in the top 20 of their respective classes. He inherited Nabers and BTJ and that's basically all he did.
