Seems like a decent combo with Saleh and Daboll.

Absolute HR hire. He should be a HC imo. I don't imagine he'll be with the org long but this is the best news I've gotten as a Titans fan in a while

Why do so many on this board think he's head coach material? The Giants were a dumpster fire under him.

I don’t think he’s a great head coach but he’s a good OC. Won a national title at Alabama, helped Allen develop and found success with Jones.

Nope. Had one mediocre season his first season there and was dog shite every year after.

9-7 with a playoff win is mediocre? They fell apart after Barkley left.

First year coach, playoff win and finished above .500.

The Giants problems go beyond Daboll. Still doesn’t change the fact that he won a playoff game with Jones. He was named coach of the year for being mediocre

Yeah I think the issue is what happened in the years after that one

That only gets you so far when you win 13 games in the next 3 seasons after that one. Of course the giants had bigger issues than Daboll, but good coaches get more out of it than that. He had talent on those rosters and Daniel Jones has had success outside of the giants now, so that also kind of works against what Daboll is supposed to bring to the table

Stefanski won that award twice. Harbaugh also won it before and got his walking papers as well. Those things are only relevant to that 1 season.

Ironically now that I look at it 6/7 past coach of the year winners have been fired by that team since winning the award, with Kevin Occonnell the last one standing

Going back further - 2017 had McVay but prior to that it was Jason Garrett and Ron Riveria as the winners of that award

Yes, it is, it's one game over .500.

None of that matters. After one half decent season:
6-11
3-14
2-8 before getting fired.
Dude was a shitty head coach, period.

The retreads people pick to drool over is odd

He was a chef who was given shite ingredients. They fired him after he finally got a couple of quality pieces (Dart, Skattebo, and Nabers).

If everyone avoided retreads there would be no coaches left in the NFL. Hell, the Seahawks QB is a retread. Pete Carroll was once considered a retread, as was Bill Belichick.

It is possible for someone to be unsuccessful in one situation, learn from it, and perform better with their next opportunity.

And had a 5-22 record with them before getting the axe.

Well yeah, A first year QB, first year rb, and a second year Wr aren’t going to lead a team anywhere when the rest of the team is complete arse.

I'm not saying retreads can't work, I'm saying how people pick and chose which ones to drool over is baffling. Carroll had plenty success in new England then had a dominant tenure in college. That's a far cry from what Daboll or Saleh has done.

The Giants got rid of his best offensive player who went on to win a Super Bowl the next season. NFL franchise are usually impatient. Like I said I don’t think he’s a great head coach but he got a shite deal in New York and he can be successful in Tennessee.
