Artemis II Mission - 2nd wet dress rehearsal attempt targeted 2/13, launch window open 3/3

This mission will go further than any person has gone before, surpassing Apollo 13.

What are the goals of this mission...just to go around the moon? Are there any other secondary goals, or is this just more of a test thing to see about getting people back to the moon?

That's it. There will be a lot of science shite on oars, but it's mostly to see how disfigured humans get after passing through the radiation belt

I just can’t wait for them to fly through the radiation belt just to watch the moon-landing deniers scramble to find new excuses or to backtrack on things...

It's effectively a dry run of the ability of the boosters and shuttle systems to complete the mission that will be required for Artemis III (sans the lunar lander).

While running the fueling tests, they sprung leaks in the liquid hydrogen fuel supply lines and are unable to fix them at this point. Doesn't sound promising for a 2/8 launch. They do have several backup dates.

They have backup dates over the next few months with the last one set for April 30th. After that, no idea what the plan would be.
SLS is and has been a colossal boondoggle. I saw a graphic earlier that they're using parts for this ship that are from the 1980's

I believe now that they have the tanks full, they just have to maintain within the acceptable leak levels until the test countdown is complete, which shouldn't be as big of an ask. Currently showing just under 4 hours until the dummy "launch". Not sure if that's still accurate with the delays.

Just remember these are super-chilled gasses that "boil off" as they warm... that's why they're always topping off until launch time

SpaceX and Blue Origin are both working on lunar landing systems. Bit of a competition right now but will ultimately provide some redundancy as well.
