According to a message I got from SWA, starting at 9 pm each night, the gate link / people mover connecting the SWA gates to the terminals will be shut down for construction, and busses will be used instead.

Anyone deal with this? How much longer will take? Where does it pick up and drop off?

Last time I flew out of MCO I thought I saw the ramps down to the busses in the terminals, was confused why they were there. I think it's right where you catch the train, the ramps are at the end of the train platform. Timing wise no clue but there's usually a ton of people arriving at MCO after 9pm so I'd expect them to have a lot of busses. Dropoff wise, not sure if it'll be at the terminal or closer to baggage claim? Let us know how it goes

They had one of the trains shut down back in December when I was there. Buses were running too, but decided to wait for the one train. It was packed, but only took an extra 5-7 min to get on the train.

I know that doesn't help bc didn't ride the bus, but crazy to think they would shut both trains down at any time.

Exit gate and proceed to people mover area. Walk along side and out the glass doors leaving the building. Once outside there is a ramp with three switchbacks to get you to ground level,

When you get to ground level there is a large queue area but when I got there it was only 5 people ahead of me. A bus just left, another one came 2 min later. The busses are large, very wide, and mostly standing room… maybe 8 seats total. Looks like the inside of the people mover lol.

The bus brings you to the airside that has gates 70-99. Walk up a similar ramp, then inside. You then get into the people mover that brings you from gates 70-99 to the terminal.

Probably took 10 minutes in total delay.

Writing this while waiting for my Avis car. Preferred service… but 80 percent of people on board sent to the booth…

Yeah, this was me too in December. It was a work thing, so I flew in on Sun and out on Tuesday, and it didn't seem like a big deal. I didn't even clock that buses were an option, there wasn't any clear signage between the terminals and security that I recall.

This will be the norm until late 2027.

Why? How the hell does it take 2yrs to refurb the two people movers? I mean, shite, you could build all new ones in half that time.

I think it’s a complete rebuild. Also they are doing two then the other two… and during the day only one at a time.
