More Menhaden Bullsh*t

Here's the latest...
Representative Joe Orgeron, Vice Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, stepped up. On February 11th, he formally requested an oversight hearing to increase transparency and ensure that all public comments were made available to committee members.
An oversight hearing would have been a strong outcome for this cause. Instead, the Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee (Rep. Brett F. Geymann) directed the matter into the standard legislative process.
Unfortunately, that changes the dynamic. An oversight hearing would have required agency testimony under oath, formally entered public comments into the committee record, and allowed legislators to directly question LDWF.
As it stands, this will now proceed through the regular legislative process — which, in my view, is a total FAIL.
CCA loses leverage and so do we.

I see Texas, Alabama, and Florida actively making decisions that better their public resource while Louisiana is hell bent on pouring gasoline on the demise of their own.
Dumb idea I know but it would be satisfying jf the charter coalition of Louisiana along with recreational fishing license holders sue for damages as a collective against Daybrook, other Menhaden entities, and all users of said menhaden product and byproducts. Sue for $$$ and settle for vastly more restrictive provisions or removal of Menhaden fishing from state waters.

I am going to remain optimistic that the seeds CCA has sown legislatively will grow and bloom for this issue.

The seeds CCA has sown is poison ivy. They have no leverage, no respect and universally not trusted by state and federal elected officials.

Oh it’s willyL again. Sowing seeds of division. Why?

This is a true statement.

I hate it, but I have a feeling the outcome of this has been long decided and they're just going though the motions right now. Palms have already been greased. It's bullshite.

Motorboat, I can say the same thing about you and your lies about CCA. I am not trying to sow any division, I have asked you before and I will ask you now, what have I ever said about CCA that is not true?
What I am doing is letting people know that each should take a role i contacting their respective legislators. If anyone waits for CCA, the result will be the same. Nothing done from a legislative perspective, and the Louisiana Sportsman show will be full of heavily starch red shirts, wearing funning looking shoes and belts, with way too short shorts, bragging about the gill net ban which was enacted over two years before CCA was even organized.
In Washington and in BR, CCA is regarded as the Capitol Clown Association-Not my words, but that of numerous elected officials and their respective office staff members

well at least we have Wily to solve the problem.

I pay my CCA membership, but I have not seen much from them besides giving out prizes for fish for the STAR. They need to step up with this issue and get something done. They could have taken the money used on that island project on road to Grand Isle that disappeared, and put it towards paying the elected officials like the pogie industry:-).

I’m hearing people say it’s the shrimping industry that’s preventing any regulations on the Pogy business here.

A legislative solution is the only real option. The wildlife commission is going to continue to do stupid crap. Every saltwater fisherman should be at their legislators 2 yard line on this issue. I've contacted mine and a friend who is legislator on northshore 1/2 dozen times.

They aren't helping. I understand their concern - Shrimpers position is that "if the big bad wolf is taken out then the farmers will shoot the foxes next."
Shrimpers are concerned on two fronts regarding regulations on 1) the use of purse seigns & drag nets and 2) bycatch limiting the capture of targeted fish/shrimp.
Although, shrimping will never go away or be limited (at least in Louisiana), it's like seeing the HOA/Law Enforcement target your neighbor over their trash can being too close to the road, when in fact yours is mighty close to the road as well.
Most of shrimpers are still pissed about the TED devices that were put in decades ago. They hold a grudge and fight like hell - I will get them that.

Everyone can have their own opinion about the character of a politician, whether national, statewide or locally. But I can assure everyone that one characteristic each and every politician has is that if you lie to them in session/committee/subcommittee, they will never believe anything you say again.
CCA of Louisiana lied on the record about being a Louisiana Corporation, lied about the nature of tits experts' qualifications lied about graph and charts it created, and even lied about their top three "executives" salaries.
No one told me this, I was there, both in Washington and in Baton Rouge.
That is why CCA of Louisiana is known as the Capitol Clown Association-again, not my words but that of many politicians and their respective staff members.
My only humble suggestion is contact your local, state and federal representative, then followup wih that contact.

We get it. you hate CCA. we also get it--you like to attack its members ad hominem witht he same old tired insults about what you perceive them to wear. What I do not get is why you have to attack them when their goal is allegedly the same as yours--to protect us from the rape of the pogey boats? Your constant BS on here is not productive, nor can you prove shite, despite being asked to do so. You are a negative fricker and we all would be better served without your constant interjection to add division to this topic. So I say this with all seriousness--Go frick yourself.
And also lol at a politician being aggrieved by being lied to. Read your first sentence over again and try to catch the irony of your statement, if you have the self awareness to do so.

It has been escalating for a while with this particular poster. Check his post history and you can see the same redundant drivel in every post.
If one cannot see what CCA is doing currently on pogies, then your eyes are closed. We have been very active since the first hour the industry attempted this rug pull.

As usual, Motorboat is full of false accusations, a trait very common to the CCA blowhards. I never said anything about politicians not lying, I simply stated CCA has lied enough to these politicians that it is no longer trusted. Loosen up your tight shorts and read a little slower, it will help your reading comprehension.
Another familiar CCA blowhard trait is that instead of defending CCA, it attacks the messenger. I ask you Mr. Motormouth, what have I said about CCA that is not true. I do not hate CCA, I hate CCA of Louisiana, a Texas corporation who parades around as a recreational fishermen's friend, and it is clearly only friends to its three top executives who gross over 1M a year.
