Madisonville weekend boat trip ?

Madisonville weekend bring the boat. Where to stay and what spots on or near the water to drink and eat ? Where to cruise in boat that’s protected and scenic ? TIA

well…madisonville is on the tchefuncte river so there’s plenty of water to cruise, you can pretty much go upriver as far as you want. There’s riverside bars and restaurants right there in town at the highway 22 crossing.
if you want to go out into the lake (stay in the channel, don’t run straight out) from the river you can go east to Mandeville harbor and tie up there, there’s plenty of bars/food a short walk along the lakefront. If you want go west you can run the lake to the tangi or tickfaw rivers; there’s bars/etc on tickfaw and further up towards manchac up the tangi

What kind of lodging are you looking for? Hotel, B&B, campgrounds?

The Wakehouse orT-Rivers on the Tchefuncte almost to Lake P.
I think you'd have more fun off the Amite or Tickfaw.
Just find someone renting a camp on AirBnB.
Prop Stop is right there. Easy run to Pass Manchac for Sunbuns and Fuel Dock. Not much further, and you could run up the Amite to Canal Bank, Blind River Bar, Fred's, DiCarlos, Boondocks, Hilltop, and a few other places.
Amite/Diversion canal just have way more options for cruising while staying in protected water.
