Can we revisit the wonderful insanity of the NFT era?

Who took part in this?
Anyone here purchase an NFT?
What did you purchase and for how much?
How much is it worth now?
The amount that people bought those NBA NFTs for is insane.
LINK
Also looks like only one of the top purchases occurred outside of 2021. Wonder what they would go for now.
Does the More Sports Board thread on those NFTs still exist?
What a weird few years.

It was an absolutely insane time in history. COVID scamdemic, tiktok, NFTs, crypto, folks with too much idle time... just absolute madness.

You know what was really funny about those NBA NFTs?
You didn’t actually own the highlight.
You couldn’t use it to make money, couldn’t market it.
You only owned the “NFT”.
You could only trade the NFT for money. That’s it.
How did people fall for this stuff?

I was essential personnel at my work. Drove 100+ mph on the interstates in a sports car. No fricks given since no traffic and no cops on the roads. I was gonna start coughing if one ever stopped me. It was awesome.

They got sold on being pseudo big brains who could repeat characteristics that made the concept complicated so they could pretend to be superior with their comprehension of the esoteric. Same mindset behind conspiracy nuts and people who find niche groups going 10 miles deep on any topic.

Let’s not forget Moscona and Parish roofing with the Gamecoin Hype.

Why can't you get one now?
Should be a sizeable discount from the launch price too

Remember the monkey ones? Bored ape yacht club I think it was called. I've never understood something less in my life.

It was fun while it lasted. If you went in knowing it was not sustainable or long term, it was a great time. Buy, flip, move on.

Everyone could copy your picture, but yours was special because…

That's the whole "secret esoteric value" part.
The real value in NFTs was the purported big brains egotistically/sarcastically explaining to dullards the (paper) value in NFTs when normal people asked why they were worth anything.

My husband sold one for $65k.
That said, I fully believe it was a game of hot potato.
