Rosemarys Baby holds up incredibly well on rewatch with teen!

My daughter was interested in watching it and she was completely glued to the screen the entire movie. Polanski’s crimes aside (which is a large ask) the film is structurally perfect and his penchant for telling a story in one POV is flawless. He was quite smart to downplay the special effects making the movie much more accessible than the Exorcist which the special effects look so pedestrian these days it’s harder to digest. We found a great podcast - Raiders of the Lost Podcast which has an incredible episode on Rosemarys Baby. She was impressed at how all the clues dropped throughout the movie support the complete storyline. If you have an adventurous teen who can watch old movies - this may be a good one. As an aside, my daughter is quite religious and even the occult stuff was done in a way to promote conversation. If so inclined this is a very well made movie!

Can you expound on this? What are the clues?

Fantastic film. One of the best “terror in daylight” movies ever.

From the very first scene - much like the 6th sense - once you know what the secret is - every ounce of dialogue and character action is consistent with who the characters turn out to be and why decisions are made
What the podcast I linked after you watch the movie - they go through every scene it’s fantastic - the 6th Sense did a great job of this as well

Has she seen Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn?
It's another great one.
And of course Alfred Hitchcock's -The Birds.

Only time I ever got up and walked out of the theater during a movie was this one. Avoided it ever since.

Agreed. Exorcist can’t carry Rosemarys jock.

I rewatched it last year and loved it so much I bought the book on Amazon and read the book. The slow-burn suspense, with little hints dropped along the way until the final reveal was near perfect IMO.
