I do some dynamic stretching prior to playing to loosen up hips, back, and shoulders.

Do you have a pre round stretch routine that has helped you move better? Any between or after round stretches?

I’m getting older and it seems like I’m taking longer to get freed up. Today was an awful front 9, just could not get in synch. Barely could move the club or my body. I walk, but I was cold for awhile. Felt stiff. As it warmed up, I played better, but early I looked like I had never played golf - putrid.

Are you looking for a right before you tee off stretching routine or something to get you loose before you start on the range before you play? If it’s the drive up to the parking lot with 10 minutes before tee time scenario, I have a heavy rope that I swing about 20 times that I focus on making a good shoulder turn with a good finish. You can get it into a pretty good back and forth rhythm. Warnibg though, it does look like I’m about to beat a dog with it so I do it in the parking lot but it honestly does a real good job getting me loose when I can’t get to the range. However I almost will cancel a golf game if I can’t warmup on the range. I lift and also train BJJ daily so I live in a perpetual state of being tight so if I can’t get an hour of range work beforehand it is a literal crapshoot if I can even make solid contact until the back nine.

I’m tight, but mostly from fatuous indolence.

I guess I just need more time as I age to loosen things up and get the club swinging freely.

I have an orange whip. I sometimes swing it whe the range is closed.

I was looking for maybe a couple of simple stretches to do between practice green and first tee.

I like to warm up swinging one of these guys to loosen up the muscles and limber up the back.

If you have a stretch lab around you try it out. I’m 64 and just bought 12 one hour sessions. It has loosened me up tremendously.

I have a short routine I do if I don't have time for the range. I saw it on YouTube or read it in a magazine many years ago. It's supposed to quickly activate all the important muscle groups, but I don't remember the science. Kind of hard to explain and can look a little goofy on the first tee, but whatever...

1) Grab your seven iron or whatever. Assume an athletic position--feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent. Extend the club in front of you with hands approximately shoulder width apart on the shaft. Flip right arm over left, make a full left shoulder/hip turn, and hold for a few seconds. Then repeat with left arm over right and turning right.

2) Find a tee marker/cart tire. Place toe on top with heel on ground and stretch. Move around to activate multiple leg muscles. Repeat with other foot.

3) This is the weird one that might get you strange looks, but the most helpful IMO...

Grab your seven iron in your right hand. Hold it by the clubhead with the butt of the grip pressed firmly to the ground a few inches to your right. Dip into a seated position, placing the right foot over the left knee, back straight, with increasing weight until you feel the pressure on your IT band/club shaft. Hold for a few seconds. Repeat with club on left side and left foot over right knee.

4) I also swing an orange whip.

Three or four 60% wedges then 95 110% driver swings usually loosens me up pretty well
