D. Davis not coming back. Saints going after top edge in free agency. First pick will be Styles if available, but defense will be the pick even if Love is on the board.

Passing on Love will be a mistake. Fill some needs in FA on defense and get Shough some legit weapons. Also, do not pay on a second contract for Etienne….:mistake.

I agree with you that I would like to have Love…….BUT as long as they actually get some legit weapons to put around Shough we should be good.
They may have decided that they are going to attack the offense in FA and go after Walker or Etienne.

There’s been a lot of smoke for weeks that Davis is not coming back. Which is weird to me, b/c I’d rather him than Jordan if I had to chose.
The top edge on the market is Hendrickson. Don’t see us getting him.
After that it’s Phillips or Oweh who had a very strong run with Chargers once he was traded. I think he had three sacks in one playoff game this year. Both are 26-27 range so going into their prime years. Both will be getting over 20+ million a year.
I’d also look at Greenard off the Vikings. He’s on the trade block and is very good. They’ll eat some of his salary I’m sure.

Love might not even be there. Don’t think Styles will be either. Downs, Bain, or Delane if we lose Taylor would be my guess.

He's played 14 seasons in the NFL and only been to the playoffs 3 times (2018 - 2020). The Saints aren't likely a playoff team next season (or at least a championship contender). So it may be he just wants to play one more season for a team that is a championship contender.

There is going to be one or two picks before the saints pick that no one saw coming. More than likely a QB. If that happens it will be great news for the saints. I want a pass rusher to pair with granderson and young. You can never have enough of those.

just trade back if you dont want love. grab extra picks, snag a top OT (which several tested well) and move Fuga to guard, or grab the best TE in the draft who can split outside with that speed and size to help wr group.

Hope your sauce is wrong bc Love would come in and immediately make the offense a ton better. But lots of good players to be had 1-8. I just want to see Shough thrive and to have some serious weapons at his disposal. As long as we don’t reach for an O or D lineman I will prob be happy with the pick no matter what. I just have ptsd from the horrendous Davenport draft and the also horrendous Payton turner pick.
