Montoucet takes deal

LAFAYETTE, La. (KPLC) - Former Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary Jack Montoucet has pleaded guilty in a federal kickback case tied to a state contract for online hunting and boating courses.
Montoucet pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States. He faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced on June 30.
Being the last to be tried for kickbacks ya just knew he would plead after seeing all of his boys go down.
Hope he gets the full five since the fine isn’t a big deal for him.

This montoucet affair definitely shows that a culture of corruption can easily exist within LDWF or the LWF Commission. shite, probably just looking the other way might feel like being morally superior to these people. I have no doubt the pogie money has infiltrated LDWF leadership in one way or another.

It’s pretty much a given with Polls that they will do their masters bidding. Commission members were always thought to have an independent streak or so I thought until dealing with the oyster dredging in Big Lake.
CC & WD were probably the most by the book Comms we have had on the board and they were always outnumbered.
Heck Landry let a scalawag buy his way up the lsu bod to president this year.
WL&F commission board is a rubber stamp for whoever pays the most and it’s never going to be our side.

Reminder that many on this board made fun of Charlie Melancon when he left DWF because he said it was corrupt. JBE then brought his friend Jack in to help him out. Now Jack is headed to the Federal Pen

Only 5? Gary Haynes got 7. But Haynes went to trial when he should have pled.

The position should not be appointed, Secretary of LDWF should be an elected official. When will we ever learn.
