Just doing some research on this. By the way, Google's search engine/AI was very hesitant to give me this information at first, I had to press.
The foundational policy directing NASA to pursue a sustained human return to the Moon Space Policy Directive 1 was signed by President Donald Trump on December 11, 2017, during his first term.
From the Wiki page: The space policy of the first Donald Trump administration comprises six Space Policy Directives and an announced "National Space Strategy" (issued March 28, 2018),[1][2][3] representing a directional shift from the policy priorities and goals of his predecessor, Barack Obama. A National Space Policy was issued on December 9, 2020.[4]

Just like that the left will hate the Artemis space program lol

Time for Patriots to troll every Artemis-related social media post they see.

I remember Trump saying something about whichever Military owns the high ground in space being able to shoot down and pick off their enemy. Sounded like an off the cuff troll to me but what do I know.

Decades later I think that historians will acknowledge that Trump was right about space force and our ambitions for space exploration. I think it will have a significant ROI.

Exactly. We certainly could not be doing what we are doing right now in Iran without it. But not just war. A "microgravity" environment will help with exploration of quantum computing and quantum physics.
Regarding quantum physics, how many Americans know we are doing this...
Trump obviously has some very good advisors showing him the long term potential of organizations like Argonne Labs, Dept of Energy, Space Force.
While our previous admin was more focused on giving away billion dollar grants to stacey abrams.

Experiments on the International Space Station (ISS), such as those using Bose-Einstein condensates, showed that matter-wave coherence could be maintained for much longer periods than on Earth.

Trump is right and the rest of the politicians know these things are right too but don't have the nerve to say it. Trump does

I recall one of the first priorities Jug Ears Barook Obama laid out for the NASA Director was to preach the glories and contributions of Islam towards the conquest of space. I remember thinking - what a laugh. He can't be serious.
Barook Obama was a buffoon. Only eclipsed by his equally buffoonish pal Joe "The Crook" Biden.
But honestly, I have to admit SCOTUS Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is giving both these clowns a run for their money in the buffoon category.
What a mess.

They hate Space Force for the same reason
Trump and Elon have single-handedly taken 2 of the most precious liberal reddit poster loves.. Space Marines and electric vehicles and made them hate them

Folks who worked on Constellation and Ares will tell you that we were originally on track to accomplish what we’re doing right now around 2016. Then Obama knee-capped the program and set us back a decade. In the meantime, he made us dependent on our adversaries for space travel.
Worst president ever.
