Their football and baseball history is rich AF..
They've been on ice for a minute though.

Baseball
That ship sailed 25 years ago...perhaps you caught their swan song?
USC hitched their future to Academic International prestige awhile back...made the School ridiculously expensive and hired administrators who look down on sports.
The small cabal that still glories in football will still keep 'em relevant and lay down in NIL with pretty much all going to football... Any other sports achievements will have to be by true student-athletes.

If "glory" is McKay/Caroll or Dedeaux caliber dynasties, no school will come close to those again. If "glory" is titles they're at least possible in the NIL era
Baseball less likely with # of decent programs in a sport with inherent parity and the power/talent has shifted east. Easier to imagine other programs taking what they want from USC (coaches, players) before they're stable enough for multiple Omaha runs. The second a coach has something genuinely promising and an SEC or ACC school wants him, he's gone. A John Savage scenario (staying loyal to UCLA for 20 years when he'd be 15th highest paid in the SEC today) doesn't happen in this era
Football, possibly. Despite a flawed roster and retarded staff, USC's best comparison of a program well past its prime and desperate to stay relevant (Miami) just had the ball in opposition territory with a chance to take the lead in the final minute of the national championship. Sustained NIL and hitting on the portal and they could put together a similar top 5-8 team that draws a favorable path to the natty. Don't know if I'd bet on it though
B10 money helps but USC is closer to a poor man's Miami without a John Ruiz funding them. Without more financial commitment it's more likely they continue to slide on the Georgia Tech / Duke / Stanford path. They may be already sealed on that path with fewer and fewer baws in the student body in a part of the country that gives less and less of a shite about any kind of athletics

Football is certainly possible but not baseball. I thought USC would be a bigger player in the NIL landscape, but their donors may very well just hate Lincoln Riley (see LSU’s fundraising go through the roof firing Kelly
)

Don’t really care about their baseball. But I hope their football team returns to being a powerhouse. College football is better when USC is good.

Probably not in either sport for a whole bunch of reasons both from a priorities perspective and organic changes in the makeup of California.
The baseball team is much improved under Stankiewicz

The potential is there. With so many good athletes in Southern California they could return to glory in FB and even baseball if they built a new stadium. I know many think because of their high Asian American student population they don't "care" about sports, but that is changing. When you are talking about second and third generation immigrants and beyond sports become important. I'm sure first generation Jewish, Italian, and Irish immigrants didn't pay that much attention to sports, but you'd be surprised at how many kids with Jewish, Italian, Irish and other heritages really, really give a shite about Michigan football and sports.

Will Ferrell needs to pay more for USC to get back its glamour.

They are 27-6 and ranked 14th

They've got some things lined up for football. They're bringing in a top recruiting class, and they now have Gary Patterson as DC. But they're also now in the best football conference.
