@US_OGA
Good evening Rep. Titus.
Several of your constituents have asked us to respond to this post.
We refer you to prior our comments to your colleague Rep. Lee. BUT with an additional addendum that others might find interesting.
Roughly 88% of Nevada’s transportation fuels — including nearly 90% of Southern Nevada’s supply and the Las Vegas area via the Calnev Pipeline — comes from California refineries.
With CA Democrat energy policy forcing the closure of major facilities, this dependency will mean higher prices & tighter supply ahead.
Nevada has virtually ZERO gasoline refining capacity of its own.
Just as Asian and European countries are learning that it is unwise to let their economies be vulnerable foreign geographic choke points --
We recommend Nevada decouple itself from CA energy policy as soon as possible.
Now having said that - allow us to also point out a number of votes you have cast which exacerbated this situation Nevadans now find themselves in.
Here are just 5 examples:
1. NAY on H.R. 1 — Lower Energy Costs Act (2023).
This bill boosted domestic oil/gas production & cut red tape to lower prices. You voted no. It passed 225-204.
2. NAY on rolling back the Methane Polluter Fee.
This tax raised producer costs passed to consumers at the pump. Opposing rollback kept it in place.
3. NAY on attacking critical oil & gas leasing reforms (2024).
Your vote helped preserve limits on new federal leases, reducing supply growth.
4. NAY on undermining federal blocks on LNG exports (2024).
Maintained uncertainty that discourages production & raises domestic fuel costs.
5. NAY on rushing pipeline review & coordination (2025).
Opposed faster approvals that would cut delays & bottlenecks for moving fuel efficiently.
We think it is important to remind you that you have been consistent in opposing more drilling, leasing, LNG & pipelines.
This is not helpful in producing more energy for Nevadans.
We respectfully ask that you not do that any more.

@ReaganBabe
Thank you!
Here’s 3 more:
1997- voted Yes on AB 525 to increase gas taxes and it became state law.
2007- publicly called to raise diesel tax.
2016, 2018 and 2020- floated raising the federal gas tax.
Dina has never meet a gas tax she didn’t like.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Oh really! A CBS News investigation found what's really driving the highest gas prices in the US. Where have you been?
We've been covering California's regulatory abuse of the oil and gas industry for many years.

I always like how speculators - who are behind these spikes - always get off unscathed.

Titus is the face of the Dem. Party in NV. Failed Dem. Senators, & members of Congress attempting to tell us it is not their fault. The party of narcissistic leaders.
Note that gas prices in NV counties bordering & sourcing gas from CA refineries is well above those that don't.

I would love to see a greater effort spent by the US Oil and Gas Assoc. to educate American consumers on the reality of what really causes these higher prices, especially diesel.
Particularly, let them know how their representatives are voting.

EVERYTHING IS TRUMP's FAULT.
every democrat
Per Newscum:
Gas Prices & Iran Conflict: Newsom alleges Trump's actions in Iran created a "proxy war" leading to a "regional war" that spiked global oil prices.
He stated, "Americans will pay $1.5 BILLION MORE at the gas pump just this week because of Donald Trump's war with Iran".
California Budget Deficit: In May 2025, Newsom cited Trump’s tariff policies, a volatile stock market, and reduced global tourism as factors creating a $12 billion deficit.
Environmental/Infrastructure Conflicts: Newsom condemned the Trump administration for attempting to use the Defense Production Act to restart the Sable Offshore pipeline, terming it a "reckless" move to exploit a crisis.
Political Disputes: The two have clashed over federal wildfire aid, with Newsom accusing the administration of a "snub" in December 2025

That and also hammer home where the money spent per gallon goes. The O&G companies make far less per gallon than the government in most cases.

You are exactly right. The MSM will not ever tell the American people about the high gasoline taxes per gallon but they will scream at us about gas prices.
If people knew every time they fill up they are paying a minimum $12 in taxes they would riot!!

If tweet fails to load, click here. Just when you thought Gov Newsom was doing a great job - We need to get the Federal Government to take control of the Refineries and Regulations - Just taking the Sable Offshore is a start. South Korea just shut down jet fuel exports - and that is California's largest source - let that sink in for a moment. 10 to 15 dollar gas is now within reach.

The ONLY issue with this take is this...
Has anybody ever thought Gov Newson was doing a great job?
Other than that everything here is spot on.
It demonstrates how bad things are screwed up in California when industry experts are asking if the federal government needs to take control of CA refineries and regulations as a viable option to fix the problem California has created for the rest of the economy.

DollarTree PeeWee and his Playhouse friends have entered the Chat.
Since Jan 2025, Californians have shelled out an estimated $24–30 billion extra on gasoline since compared to the U.S. average.
Average premium: $1.30–$2.00/gal (taxes + regs + supply issues).
Per driver: $600–$900+ more in just 15 months.
Data: EIA weekly prices + CA consumption stats

True to form, Gov Newsom's failure to plan now constitutes someone else's emergency.
A national security emergency for the Department of Defense to be specific.
Decades of anti-energy policies, refinery closures, and a forced “boutique” fuel system left California unable to draw supply from the rest of America — turning temporary global bumps into $6+ gas and jet-fuel shortages.
Now it’s hitting our military: West Coast bases like Travis AFB rely almost entirely on in-state refineries for jet fuel. Imports from Asia (disrupted by the Iran conflict) can’t fill the gap.
Energy security isn’t optional.
Trump invoked the Defense Production Act to restart shuttered California offshore oil operations — because Sacramento’s ideology became a threat to readiness.
It would be a proper use DPA authority to address CA refinery operations as well.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Food for thought.
While everyone is fixated on oil, almost no one is talking about what’s happening in natural gas. Over the past year, US natural gas prices have collapsed by more than 30%, easing costs for power generation, industry, and home heating. Yet mainstream media and Wall Street research have largely ignored this move, because it doesn’t show up at the gas pump, doesn’t fit the preferred “energy inflation” narrative, and flows through to consumers slowly via regulated utility bills rather than daily price signs on every corner. The result is a massive, under-reported positive supply shock in a core input to the US economy that barely registers in the public conversation.

@MikeUmbro
California imports 60% of its oil from the Middle East and the Amazon Rainforest.
These two charts explain why.
You need 3,000+ new wells drilled per year just to stabilize in-state production. In 2024, California drilled 21.
New permits in 2026? Still under 200.
This isn’t bad luck. Environmental activists have systematically captured California’s energy, housing, and infrastructure permitting — and we’re all paying for it at the pump.
We’re not reducing oil consumption. We’re just outsourcing the production.
