I have gone down a rabbit hole with these videos over the past two days. I am absolutely shocked at how many people actually believe they do not have to have a driver’s license or register their motor vehicle. How prevalent is this? Any good stories?

I travel and am a citizen.

But I'm not an idiot or fool like them.

I watched the entirety of the Waukesha Christmas attack trial of Darrell Brooks. Sovereign citizen types are nut jobs, but he was especially crazy.

There's a pretty good movie on Hulu based on a true story called Sovereign that deals with this topic.

I like the concept of not having to pay for things like licenses and social security but I'm just not willing to roll the dice. The matrix has me.

Wait until you find out how many people believe they don't need an ID to vote.

I know a guy who tried the sovereign citizen thing. He’s hiding out in Central America now to run from the tax charges he has pending here. He was a chiropractor and pretty much exactly the kinda looney toon you imagine.

Saw a video during training at work. I believe it was from West Memphis, Arkansas. Two deputies pulled over a car with a homemade license plate. Sovereign citizens with automatic weapons, if I remember correctly. The shootout killed the two deputies, one was the sheriff’s son.
They can be extremely dangerous.

I've seen these type of videos. I wish the cops would just once ask these people "how do you think these roads get built and maintained"?

Not really a specific story.. but i work overseas, my job takes me to a handful of different countries each quarter.. and ive been before to countries like Thailand and Vietnam where many, many tourists routinely rent scooters, mopeds or motorcycles to explore the city or islands.. 90% of the time, they do not have an international driver license (super easy to obtain at AAA) or a motorcycle endorsement on the driver license of whatever US state they live in.. the moto shops will rent to anyone, so they dont check any credentials.. and most of the time, youre fine.. BUT if you get stopped, there can be hefty fines.. but the worst is if youre in an accident (way more common than you think) and you have serious injury and go to the hospital- even though they are way cheaper than in America, those bills can add up substantially.. and even if you have international health insurance, or traveler’s insurance- they will 100% refuse coverage if you dont have the proper motorcycle endorsement or especially if you werent wearing a helmet… THAT’s when the inevitable GoFundMe starts becuase they wont let you leave the hospital, or leave the country, until you pay them what is owed- usually in the tens of thousands of US dollars, or more .

ETA my bad, originally i only skimmed the original post.. in re-reading it again, i realize now that my post is 1000% off topic.. sorry

I have been watching bodycam clips for several months now. In addition to the sovereign citizen youtube clips, my other guilty pleasure are the ones involving people being denied flight boarding and/or getting dragged off an airplane.
