Not sure about football. But they can absolutely dominate in basketball. May has proven he’s a good coach and knows how to put together a roster. One and done tourney who knows, but I think they can become a Final Four fixture most years.

Meh. Could have easily lost last night if Uconn could have made ANY of the wide open 3s they were missing. Bread and butter was shooting, and at one point they were like 0 for 15. And still had it down to 4 a couple times.
I sure didnt care who won, but I'd love to see that match up with both teams playing near their best.

Idk if they’ll dominate but they’ll be a contender yearly as long as they keep May and keep spending

Michigan State really should, too. I mean, you have Dan Gilbert, Mat Ishbia, and Magic as big money alums. I had never even heard of the Acrisure guy and he pumped in $400 million last year.
Nearly every school has rich alums. Who knows where this goes?

UConn shot better than Michigan did last night. Most nights Michigan would pummel them from behind the arc. But not last night.
And Michigan still won fairly comfortably (they were up 6-9 points for the last 15 minutes of the game).

Really doesn't matter. They did NOT shoot 3s well, and they usually do

Cignetti & May have the midwestern dad types just on top of the world right now. Guarantee their lawns are tip-top shape too

They’re not winning the CFP with Whittingham

Nobody will dominate in this era. You have schools like Iowa about to hand the coach they believe in a $10-12MM bag to go get a PG and center to go with the core nucleus. Everyone has big money guys, just a matter of getting them to throw it around.

I don’t think NBA owners can donate to basketball NIL unless I’m mistaken?

Lol, wut? Threes are the only thing that kept UConn in it. They ended up 9/33, but were ~40% on 3s in first half.
Michigan was the really cold team—didn’t hit a single jumpshot for the first 25 minutes of the game. Ended up 2/15 from 3 and still had a 9 point lead with 1:07 to go and went into stall mode and missed a few FT.

They can but Ishbia stopped donating to make sure there wasn't the appearance of a conflict when he was buying the Suns.
Ishbia and Gilbert also absolutely hate each other, which probably doesn't help matters.

Basketball is going to start padding their teams with upper classmen who have been through it.
Two of Michigan players were listed as Grad Students

Which is exactly why I said if they would have shot decent, the game would have been tighter.
Not sure why you come here and argue, just for the pleasure of your words.
They shot like dog shite in the 2nd half, and it allowed Michigan the huge lead. If not for that, my opinion is uconn was better overall, and would have won.
Who knows. But what I originally said stands

UConn shot 31% compared to Michigan's 38%. Yes, the 9 three pointers kept UConn in the game, but it's hard to say UConn "shot better" when they shot 31%. UConn had 13 more FG attempts. That is usually a key difference that leads to victory

That's because Michigan won the game at the FT line. They made nine more FTs than UConn attempted. 25/28. Many of the other key stats favored UConn, for example, offensive rebounding. UConn dominated that stat.
Both defenses were good and truth be told, UConn got Michigan to play the game UConn wanted them to play. If you would have told me or Dan Hurley that Michigan would be held under 70 points I'd have said there was a very strong chance UConn wins the game. But credit Michigan. They found a different path to victory. That's what great teams do. They can win in any type of game.
