Item #1 is correct but not eveywhere in the world.
#2 is a misnomer that numbnuts perpetuate. There is more US currency available in the world, no ohter nation can be the "world currency" On trade imbalance other nations are forced to buy Treasury Bonds. It doesn't matter whether oil or cow manure,

There used to be one. It's long been abandoned. You do understand that it would take tankers to shuttle oil from Qatar, Kuwait and Iraq with a giant terminal and MULTIPLE pipelines to pump that much oil. All of that costs real money and adds to cost of oil at least $20 per barrel if not more.
