Bobby Knight and College Gameday

Did anyone hear his comments about the end of the game last night? I did a search but nothing came up. While Digger was over the top with his love for the Tigers, Knight was over the top with "Thorton should have been called for a push off and UK should have had the ball with 15 seconds left- Its a shame UK gets a bad deal on this call"
what a POS, some things never change.

I'm not a Bobby Knight fan, actually despise the guy and think he is the ultimate bully. However, I don't think his comments were aimed at LSU- more the quality of officiating and its impact on the game. If we would have lost, he would have shown several calls that went against LSU.
His agenda is bigger than hating on LSU. Beyond the dollars ESPN is paying him, I beleive his motivation is to challenge the NCAA- if its a rule it should be called. He has consistently broken down tape every week showing how many walks, etc don't get called.
One of the things I dislike about NCAA BB, is the inconsistency of how the games are called- especially across conferences. That inconsistency can and does bite good teams at tourney time.

We had just (1) missed a free throw that would have built the lead to 5, (2) had a borderline block-charge call go against us, (3) had a 47% FT shooter knock down his first FT, (4) had KY get the rebound on their missed FT, and (5) watched their freshman knock down a game-tying 3.
And Bobby Knight's take was: What a shame it was that the refs didn't give KY another questionable call to give them a chance to win.
It pissed me off.

You clearly have missed Knight's purpose in life ... hate on the refs. The teams are unimportant to him. He would rail on little league refs if they had the highlights.
He said the same thing about the Duke-VT game when a Dukie got away with walking.

Maybe he should have complained about the numerous muggings that UK made on our players yet there were no calls. It works both ways but douce bags like Knight don't see it that way.

Bobby Knight has over 900 wins in CBB. However, if you coach long enough most people would get there as well.

You can't make that call 40' away from the basket with the game on the line.
A good no call IMO

If the shoe was on the other foot, we'd be pissed at the no call on Thornton. He clearly pushed off and I've seen that called many times. We got a good break.

I agree, it was obviously a push off, TWICE, we got a break, and you always need a few breaks to win.

Because the Rant wouldn't be going off if that happened the other way.
FWIW, I agree with the no-call there, but it definitely could have been called, and if it was, I'd have no problem with it.

Bobby is one of the best commentators in cbb.

This is not true. He is a man who is for rules. When refs dont call a foul or a walk which is blatant, he gets mad. Only thing that separates him from others is he actually talks about it.

Pretty sure it is against the rules to throw a chair across the floor, slam phones during a game, kick a player, choke a player, etc.
I guess rules apply to everyone else.

He obviously didn't watch the ENTIRE game. There was "pushing" off on both sides of the ball during the entire game. They were not calling it and the players took advantage of it.
