Anybody see him play for the last time as an amateur in the state championship???? It's gonna be real tough to sign him especially if he goes as high as he might(Round 1-5).......

I saw him pitch in the quarterfinals against Live Oak. He is incredible. I think he struck out thriteen batters through five innings. It was really weird to see 10-12 scouts all with radar guns in zachary. I hope he decides to turn down the large sum of money that he is going to get offered and come pitch for the tigers!

Isn't he already signed?

yeah he is signed. The real question is what is his price. Every guy with leverage lets the scouts know what the price will be to get them to sign. Some guys are a million, Some will say they 50k etc. This allows scouts to know with a better certainty who is signable early so that they dont waste a top 10 draft pick on a kid who doesnt want to come.
I know his fastball isnt the greatest, but the kid has crazy upside and a much greater feel for pitching then other HS kids. I would say on talent alone He is a 3-8 round prospect.
If i had to guess, going off of only what I've read here, I'd say his price is 1m to get him to skip school. Going off of his potential round value his slot would command between 350k-700k.
If these are the circumstances he probably won't get drafted where he is good enough to be drafted thus making him a Tiger.

Haven't seen him pitch, but what I've heard is he hasn't shown the scouts that he can simply blow it by hs batters. Relies abit too much on the curve ball? So I see him coming to LSU for at least a couple of seasons.

Dont you have to stay at least 2 years if you are drafted and choose to go to College?

Not a chance. Goes in rounds 1 or 2 gets 1 million+ signing bonus. No way he turns down that kind of money.

I'm excited about all of the supposed stud pitchers we are signing. Good pitching wins ball games and we certainly seem to be racking up in that department.

How do you know?
You're just guessing
He's already signed to play here. Plus he's told my brother on many occasions that he wants to play at LSU

What exactly are the transfer rules for the LHSAA? I read where he attended Barbe and then left to follow his coach when he got the head gig at Zachary...did his parents up and move to Zachary or did he go live with the coach or something? Did he have to sit out a year? Any info, please...

I may be wrong but I think his brother or half brother coaches at Zachary.

Talked to Sam Houston pitcher's dad about signing bonus. That is the rumor going around.

Pretty sure there is some blood connection to the move. Didn't Barbe win State when he was a freshman and now Zachary wins 3.
