Best side is the lima beans.

Anything besides the fish on the entree and you will be fine.

Livers on toast with pepper jelly. The fricking bomb. Stay with pork products and you shall leave very happy.

agreed.

ALso, the oyster and bacon sandwich was surprisingly good.

I honestly enjoyed everything i have tasted (3-4 different visits) with the exception of the fish.

our waiter suggested the "paneed pork cheeks with goat cheese arugula & beet rösti" as an appetizer. it was absolutely amazing. i had no idea what to expect but the flavor was just incredible.

also, highly recommend the pork and black-eye pea gumbo as a starter.

i got the "louisiana cochon with turnips, cabbage & cracklins " as my main meal. was very impressed. it is a big ball of roasted pork that is dusted with flour, browned, and finished in the oven. awesome.

i like to stick with what a restaurant specializes in, so i'd stay with the pork entrees. with that said, my wife got a fish dish when we went and thought it was excellent.

my GF also ordered the fish ...it was parchment wrapped and cooked on the open flame pit...I tried it and thought it was very well prepared and cooked....so I would not shy away from the fish either.

I got the grits, which I've said before we're probably the best I've ever had, the fried alligator which came with awesome sauce, and the pork cheeks. All were great.

They butcher a pig routinely and use everything. I wouldn't order anything but the pork. The pork cheek dish is a great suggestion for an app.

As far as appetizers go, I really loved the baked oysters. The sauce is great, very tasty. Also enjoyed the gator appetizer. Didn't stay for dinner, so can't comment on that.
