A few friends and I will headed up for this weekend's games. We we're planning on camping out (tent) while there. Has anyone done this in Omaha before? What are the best campgrounds etc? I looked at the link on the CWS site so please dont send that, I want to hear some people's experiences! Thanks GEAUX TIGERS!!

There is a campground down by the Missouri river just north of Omaha. I think it is in Dodge Park. I have never camped there, but it would make for a nice area - lots of trees, by the river so it should be cooler.

It also would be fairly easy to get to the stadium if you take surface streets.

Get a AAA membership and you can get all the info you want at any time: maps, hotels, campgrounds, etc. Plus, you can get discounts, free or discounted towing, etc. Well worth the money.

was planning on sleeping in my rental car, but camping seems like a viable option. Only issue is thunderstorms.

If their is a storm, sleep in the truck, or drive to a casino and don't sleep, that's my plan

Me and friend did this exact thing in 2004. We pitched a tent at the KOA campground about 15 miles from Rosenblatt. It was like $17/night and the bathroom facilities were nice.
