Good article. Love this quote, sums up my feelings toward the movie:
quote:

And, please, you don't have to remind me that the original was a colossal hit ($700 million worldwide) and the sequel will probably do just as well. I know it's popular. So is junk food, and they both poison your insides and rot your brain

I enjoy summer movies and know what to expect from them, but I can't understand how anyone over the age of about 12 could say they "love this movie," or it's "great," or "better than the original," like I've seen on this board.

Mainly why people hate it? Too much robots fighting. Why fans love it? Alot of robots fighting. The complaint about the first movie by fans? Not enough focus on Autobots vs Decepticons, Need more Robots. The praise by critics for the first one? Not alot of robots but more human screen time.

The second one HUmans and robots shares roughly the same amount of screen time. Critics can't understand that the Transformers are suppose to be the lead of the film like in the cartoon. They like more "human depth" when it was really Transformer depth we saw. Mainly with Optimus and his crew. The decepticon motivation on why they are doing what they are doing is good, the human part feel tacked on, but that the way it's suppose to be Critics just can't understand it.

Don't believe me? read the reviews from 2 years ago. Yahoo.com/movies . Read what they praise and read what they say detract from the film. Now read the reviews now and you will see what they criticize and what they wanted more of, it's all in their reviews.

ok, go find me the TF 1 reviews and the TF 2 reviews...that were made by the SAME PERSON.

if not, you're talking about reviews (A) from different people and (B) from morons on yahoo.com

The 45 mins it took for Sam to travel 2 miles, really had me bored to tears. I was actually enjoying the movie up to then, serious plot holes and all.

I think a lot more people would have enjoyed the movie if it would've been 45 mins shorter!

I really liked how luxor and the great pyramids are both on the Jordanian border. Michael bay needs to buy a map.

omg this

the geography of the entire move sucked.. they implied they were just off the Red Sea.. Jordan doesn't border the Red Sea

Of course, there are no pyramids on Sinai

Who the frick were the checkpoint guards that they passed to get there? They'd have been in Egypt the whole time after they teleported into the desert.

NTSA, seriously. You don't like it, or you found someone else that doesn't like... :whoopdeefrickingdo:

Revolutionary Road = a kick in the ball sack... urrrrghgh, I mean, the greatest film masterpiece ever.

Transformers 2 is a movie about fricking transforming Robots. What the hell did all these complainers expect? The second coming of Milk? Jezeus H. Christ, its popcorn flicktion at its finest.

Maybe studios should get out of the business of making money, and into the business of pleasing every vegan and douche named Peter that reviews movies. Yeah, its junk food... and yeah people like junk food.

FWIW, I have not seen this movie, but probably will one day. But for fricks sake, I know what to expect going into it, and therefore will most likely not be disappointed... unless there are zero transforming robots, but instead its Leo and Kate bitching and moaning for two hours. Now that would piss me off.

What? If anything, it's ridiculous that they put so much of the focus on humans, especially the special forces guys.

They have get their money's worth from the actors by making them do scenes otherwise you just have a cgi fest with no live actors.

dumbass, and the Wizard of Oz was about a girl, her dog, a talking scarecrow, flying monkeys and magical shoes. WTF is your point? Transformers 2 was a piece of shite that didn't even try when it comes to the writing. Some of us dont like to mimic a retard with ADD who is easily distracted by fast moving shiny objects.

You got any other idiotic observations you want to throw out here while you are at it? Maybe that "water is wet" or "Democrats are dumb"? Feel free. Ive got all day to make fun of you.

At the same time, I most certainly would NOT recommend it for any kid 12 and under. Too much profanity and adult stuff. A close up shot of Turtorro's arse? Come on.
