I searched, but I didn't find anything...

Does anyone know what happened to it? There is a notice taped up on their doors that says "closed on Thursday July 2nd" but it's been closed since.

No business? Health code? New management? Anybody know what happened?

i had heard that it was shutting down any day now back about a month ago, so that would make sense .. the place just wasn't very good and couldn't compete with california pizza kitchen, kona grill, and texas de brazil ... the grill room is going to be the next to go if management doesn't get off of its asses and start advertising the place ..

I went once and never went back. It was terrible. The fish of the day I had was bland and room temperature warm and the rice was cold.

What restaurant do you think will go in its place?

I'd like to see a local restaurant there, instead of a franchise.

From todays Business Report. The food really sucked. The place is great though if someone gets the right food in it it'll do good. I knew this one wasn't going to make it from day one.

Fish City Grill closes

Fish City Grill, one of the first restaurants to open in the Perkins Rowe lifestyle center, has closed. The restaurant, which opened in April 2008, shut down June 1. Brian Mercer, who co-owns the local franchise, says he could not comment on the closing because of pending litigation. Officials with Fish City, a Dallas-based chain, say the local restaurant’s performance was clouded by problems with Perkins Rowe. Perkins Rowe has been at the center of more than 40 lawsuits and liens, filed by customers who claim the development didn't pay its bills. Officials with JTS, which developed Perkins Rowe, say they were disappointed to see Fish City Grill close and note that the other restaurants in the center have had strong sales. "All of our restaurants' sales far exceed their respective company averages and in some cases, are tops in their chains," says Paula Biggs, a spokeswoman for JTS, in a statement. A replacement tenant for the Fish City site should be announced in several weeks.

Them blaming the failure on Perkins Rowe is weak.
They served lame frozen seafood in a city not far from the Gulf of Mexico that knows its seafood and wants it fresh.
Morons. Go put Fish City Grill in Iowa.

I agree. It's a Dallas based chain so what did anyone expect?

news doesn't surprise me either... i actually enjoyed it the 2 or 3 times i went there for lunch, but they needed to nail it considering the competition in that area and they obviously didn't do that

meh, the developers may file (unlikely IMO), but the buildings are still there and can still command rent. Hell, General Growth Properties (owners of the Mall of Louisiana property) are currently IN bankruptcy, and you see how that's affected the actual mall.

i went there afew weeks ago. the seafood apps were better than the steaks imo. i would nto go again unless someone else is paying, and even then i think iw ould get a fish dish. my steak was slightly overcooked, but i ate it because i hate to waste a good piece of meat,

i think the grill room is really good .. a hidden secret thanks to the lax marketing done by management ... to blame the failure on perkins rowe by fish city is lame at best ... california pizza kitchen, kona grill, and texas de brazil are all doing just fine as are the loft and the grape ... and offshore .. have you actually been to perkins rowe ?? if so, don't see how you can remotely think it is about to "shite the bed" ... the place is doing just fine .. legal issues are getting resolved and units are selling and leasing out there now ...
