Another thing to think about....

What are the chances that both UF and Bama both have bye weeks before their biggest conference game (LSU)?

Lsu is not floridas biggest conference game.

It was this year. It's the only game Florida was expected to have a fight in.

It was Floridas toughest game of the year but its nowhere near as important then playing Tenn or uga

Bama was fortunate to come off a bye before playing us. They were fortunate LSU players went down with cramps and injuries. They were fortunate to get officiating. But they were good enough to take advantage of these things and win. The bye week, cramps, and injuries are all a part of the game. Just the way it goes sometimes for LSU.

True. I was just talking about this year since Florida was expected to roll in every other game. Florida this year was expected to be one of the all time great teams and LSU was supposed to be its only regular season challenge.

Just another example of the fix being in by the SEC in 2009. Doesn't the SEC set the bye weeks?

Since you can't change history, the bigger question is do they have bye weeks prior to playing LSU next year?

Too lazy to look. But I liked LSU's bye before Auburn this year.

I think Alabama and LSU both have a bye before they play next year.

Right. The point I was trying to make was that Lsu wasn't that important to them winning or losing the east this year, but the game was Florida's biggest game nationally to stay in the drivers seat to the NC

Read from another site that next year Bama has 4 or 5 teams with bye weeks before their game against Bama (including LSU).
FWIW.

Just checked. UF and Bama play each other the week prior to LSU playing UF.
2010 looks much better for LSU on both games.

Yeah but this year was clearly staged to get them to win. They wanted to see two undefeated teams (Bama and Florida) go to the SECCG, I personally believe it was because of ratings and money. Florida had it's little bump at Arky(officating debacle)and stuggled with a discombobulated LSU offense at shite playcalling, and Bama had theirs against Tenn (another last seconds officating debacle, flag should have been thrown on Cody), and struggled against an LSU team who lost their starting QB and RB, and the best CB in the NCAA, biased officiating, contious stupid playcalling and clock management. By the way they both were coming off bye weeks against us fresh and relaxed AND STILL NEEDED ALL THIS shite TO WIN!
And for what you say, nobody thinks Florida or Bama will go to the BCSNCG next year and if somebody does then their slow. I believe we are the only team next year besides maybe a matured Ole Miss and Arky who could be on top of the SEC, Maybe UGA could improve and Tenn also, but LSU is the KING of the SEC next year.

Good. And I guarantee that without the timely bye and with Florida finally on their schedule, Bama doesnt just waltz through another SEC slate.
