This ain't going away. It's our scarlet letter as it were.

Time to fish or cut bait. It's not going away, Mr AD.

As someone said last night, it this were a fortune 500 company, Miles would be replaced asap.

Its gone away already. Everyone of importance was pissed last night, woke up this morning and agreed that Miles gets one more yr to fix the offense. Then they'll talk

Go back to sleep

I think Alleva is used to having the best. Coach K at Duke sets the bar for basketball. He is a money guy and must make the decision if 18 mill now will save >18 mill over the next 3+ years.

we don't have the budget of a fortune 500 company. call Jamarcus - see if he is willing to send a little cash to the TAF.

Its not a fortune 500 company. The purpose of LSU's football team isn't to make a profit, it is to win games.

Yea, they don't want to make a profit. Everything to do with college football is about money. Everything. If LSU can find a way to bring more money in, they'll do it.

You really shouldn't be allowed to post. You seem to have a lot of answers, but it's amazing that they're always the wrong ones.

Were you around a few months back? Seems there are a huge number of underperforming heads of Fortune 500's.

Lets please hope we are better run than they are.

He's from Duke, where Basketball and Lacrosse are king.

He probably thinks this kind of football is great!

I don't think he has the gonads even if contract issues were not a problem.

He better think again, then. Football pays the bills at LSU, not Lacrosse.

And, he's got a 90k seat monster he has to fill every Saturday.

Yes, LSU will have to go coachless if Les Miles leaves or is fired. You're right.

It's cool, I am just going to ignore your posts from now on. No need to bicker. Good luck.

What we need, and I reiterate, is a T.Boone Pickens (I know he lives in Stillwater) decision maker. If it's inevitable that a decision must be made it must be done NOW. Hanging on to this albatros of a coach is not the way to go.

Alleva previously hired Carl Franks and Ted Roof as head coaches at Duke. If that's "having the best", I want no part of it.

I think its reasonable to assume that for his normal salary of 4 million a year, over 3 years (12M) that LSU could see decreased revenue above the mount of 6M if the downward trend continues.

Hanging on to Miles is not the way for this program to go. Regardless of whether we win or lose out this season, what I saw on the field last night tells me there is something very amiss with the LSU program. Every recruit we are talking to saw the same crap we did. Keeping Miles for another year or two is going to cost us a lot more in the long run than buying out the contract. In my opinion, keeping Miles is not even an option. The plan to get rid of him may take some time.

Making money is one of the major goals of LSU Football. It supports all the other sports than no one attends. Without the football revenue, the athletic deparment would be screwed.

At least if LSU would have taken stimulus money, Obama would set his salary or fire him for bad management practices, but since LSU didn't, he may stay around.
