For all you Saban fans

If (3) losses is the benchmark, then you had better check Saban's record while at LSU. In (4) of his (5) seasons at LSU, Saban had (3) or more losses.

So what. He is still by far the better coach.

That's where you are wrong. When saban was here we won evey game by a score of 150-0 and we won ten consecutive national championships. We beat bama, fla and ole piss three times every year and the waters of the mississippi where parted. I dont know why we ever let him go

I hate Saban, but he may never lose that many for a while.

Km, don't you know he couldn't win with dinardos players though.

That's right. He can only win with Shula's players.

The Saban Obsession is unreal around here sometimes.

Why are some of you so hellbent on wins and losses?
THAT IS NOT THE ONE AND ONLY ISSUE WE HAVE WITH LES MILES.

This is what Tiger fans don't get. Saban inherited absolute crap while Miles inherited National Championship Caliber Talent. Big Difference. Saban had to win Daytona with a Dotson and Miles just finishes each race with a Ferrari. Big difference.

These comparison of Miles and Saban are asinine. You do realize the talent left for Miles was FAR superior to what was left for Saban, right?
You are comparing apples and oranges.
LSU was not the recruiting juggernaut that it is now when Saban got here. He had to build that and left it for Miles.

Miles inherited 10 million dollars. He went to the casino and won a little bit more for 2 nights. On the 3rd night, he hit it big on pure luck. On nights 4 and 5, he blew all the money and is now back to work living in middle class.

This is true. Saban inherited mediocrity and built it up, Miles inherited talent and discipline and its breaking down.
W/L record is irrelevant for now. After next season it will be a powerful indicator however. So

I like how all the people who have bashed PJ in the past for saying Miles was a dumb as a tomato can, WON'T step up and say PJ WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!

Before Saban we were 'enjoying" 5 n 6 loss seasons.
We NEVER had to watch an undisciplined team with Saban. They were scares of his arse!!!!
Coaches too

Saban always showed promise. Miles and Crowton are brain-dead and dull...

Once again,Bama was loaded with quality freshmen and sophomores.

In 2003 saban's team was the most penalized team in the sec. that's what i call discipline.

Just disciplined enough to win that elusive National Championship, huh?

Saban did something that most coaches could not have done. He freed the team from old politics, big money people, and declared freedom to coach. He liberated the team from an over dependence on emotionalism to win a game. How many times did I witness a team try to get up to win a big game. A few times they pulled it off and then fell back exhausted to a ceiling where they felt they belonged. Saban prepared his team to know how to win.
Saban, in all his arrogance, gave the team confidence. Each player knew his assignment and did it, or else. That removed the over dependence on emotionalism, helped them focus, and made them more consistent. They were prepared.
Saban raised the level of expectation over the whole state and beyond which opened up the New Orleans recruiting successes. How many times did we witness so many of Louisiana's best, whether New Orlean's Faulk, or Winnfield's A Train, going elsewhere to share their fame.
We still benefit from Saban's foundational work today. Now he is doing the same thing at Alabama. That is a bitter pill to swallow.
With the present uproar over coaching, it appears we may be heading back to a time, a pre Saban time, when polotics and money made the decisions. Such a dysfunctional system will not attract the best coaches, unless it is a coach whose ego borderlines on arrogance.
