I will always swallow me pride, bucknut. I guess I had figured Illinois was the team that would get hot and Buckeyes would cool. I was quite wrong.

And yet you still have OSU too low. #2 seed at worst, unless they trip up in the first round of the Big 10 tourney. Purdue is not the same club without Hummel.

No way Ohio State is a 1 seed obviously.

But I don't see how they can fall to a 3 unless like you said the lose their first game in the Big Ten tourney.

2nd seed lock imo.

Lots of stuff happening. I have updated and researched as best I could...here are some explanations:

Memphis is my pick to win the Conf USA tourney and improve their seeding. If they somehow lose to UAB in the quarters, UAB likely gets in and Memphis is squeezed out.

I am riding Ohio State now, but not #1 ride.

Ole Miss needs a big win in the SECt. They need to pray for Tennessee to beat LSU and then they beat the Vols. They're out right now as far as I am concerned.

Rhode Island is getting the benefit of having a home court advantage in their tourney. They beat Saint Louis tomorrow and they're in...but if the Billicans win, then they're bubble.

Mizzou screwed up royally today, but the strength of the Big XII and a couple of quality wins will keep them in, unless a lot of upsets start happening.

Washington is BARELY out...it was them or Rhode Island.

L'ville stays in, but loses seed...Cincy still has work to do. Illinois hates what they're watching and Seton Hall is all but in the NIT now.

I think after they demolished a respectful WSU last night, the committee will give it to them. They're probably a 4, but I like them as a 3. They did what they had to do unlike last year vs. Cleveland State.

Also, schools like New Mexico, Gonzaga, Richmond, etc. will only help the cause. This year is not about the trademark names...very unpredictable field and should be a wiiiiild tourney.

the last two years theyve had 3 and 4 losses, and have gotten a 7 and 8 seed, deserve better than that but dont see things changing this year

have faith. 14th and rising in the rpi and they're getting help. They have one loss that looks semi-bad and that was early on vs. Minnesota. They went undefeated in conference play. They have some great wins vs. Ohio State and Xavier. Their other losses were to good teams. They haven't lost since December. These are qualities and facts that last year's Butler squad (and previous ones) did not have to fall back on.

Wiscy as a 7 - especially since I think Illinois is going to beat them in the first round - is not a ridiculous 7. Sorry that your personal investment is in the way, but they rank 13 and 18 as of now. A first round loss and I promise you, my 7 seed will fit. See that is what I do...I project. Ohio State....I got burned on.

Let's not forget that Wisc has a loss to Green Bay and are also 4th in the Big 10. They beat Illinois and I will immediately bump them to a 5, but beat the same team twice in a row? NOt easy. ANd Illinois is going to be hungry. They need it more.

And I am a big T Hughes fan.

And I think thed Big 10 is usually a grind it out bore in CBB, but this year, they have been a fun conference to watch.

Back when I started my projections, I was high on Purdue and Illinois and not so much on Ohio State and Wiscy. That's what happens when you do this in January.
