I always stay at the Hyatt Regency for the SEC Championship and bowl games. It's really nice and always swarming with LSU fans.

Westin Peachtree is right downtown and a short walk from the dome. Very nice hotel. Also, a new Loew's opened in Midtown a week or so ago and is running specials.

My parents are staying at the Holiday Inn next to Olympic Park. I've never stayed there but it's walking distance to the GA Dome.

We stayed at the Marriott Marquis for the 2007 SECCG and loved it.

There are so many hotels it's ridiculous...just depends on how close you want to be to the Dome.

Yeah, ATL probably has more hotel rooms then N.O., stayed @ Hilton Towers for Saints vs Falcons and really nice location near some cool bars/pubs downtown, walking distance to Ga. Dome; just beware that at night (especially later) the stalkers come out and panhandle you to death walking downtown. Don't think they will harm you but annoying as Hell. Also, the hotels by the airport are good and just 20 min.($2.50) ride on MARTA to Ga.Dome.

If you don't mind being more in mid-town Atlanta, the Georgian Terrace is nice. Huge rooms, great service, and great price.

Don't tell everyone - Best kept secret for SECCG - 2BR suites for next to nothing. Mid Town not bad at all with Taxi Services.

Any hotel in "downtown" will be walking distance. Just depends on what you like. Omni is the closest.

I live in ATL...plenty of places downtown near the Dome but a little pricey. Same with mid-town but you've got taxis and MARTA, the local rapid transit. Otherwise, move out to the west side to Douglasville or even Villa Rica. Drive to the first MARTA stop inside the 285 Loop, and take MARTA anywhere downtown. Most of the big Tigah tailgates will be in the lots just south of the Dome. See ya.

So is it better to book early or wait for a last minute deal?
