i know its been discussed at length here, but Times Pic has an update... LINK
looks like its moving forward at a decent clip. no idea how they plan to cram it in there along with the new volleyball/bball practice facility, but good for them none the less.
I think it would draw alot more casual fans and maybe eventually convert them to regulars regardless of how shitty the parking will be. tailgating in Audubon park would be cool. Claiborne neutral ground, not so much.

Looks like the Greenies have finally seen the light.
Quote from article: "You are going to get people in the Uptown area who will come to the games just because it’s an easy six-, eight-, 10-block walk from their house on a Saturday afternoon in the fall and they get to go to a football game," Slatten said. "People don’t want to go down to the Superdome, they don’t want to pay $10 to park and they don’t want to pay $8 for a hot dog and they don’t want to sit in 50-degree temperature when it’s 80 degrees outside. It doesn’t feel like a football game."

Akron's new Infocision Stadium would be a good model to go by for Tulane, I think.
Capacity of 30,000.
Club Seats: 522 (individual, partially-covered chairback seats).
Loge Seats: 152 (open-air, but covered - 38 boxes with four seats per box).
Suites: Total of 17 - 16 private suites with 16 seats per suite; one 52-seat "Presidential Suite" for the University.
Cost: 62 Million
more discussion on it

Tulane should be spending the money on recruiting not on a ridiculous on-campus stadium. I will not attend games if it is too cold or raining. Football in New Orleans is meant to be played indoors. Btw, I am one of the few who goes to Tulane games. Hopefully, they will add enough new fans to make up for the people like me. Good luck. I will be there when the weather is nice.

I'd like to see this happen, I really would, but, I'll believe it when I see it.

Maybe they will use some of the newer soccer only facilities around the country as examples.

That would be great for them.

ThreePutt, that's a worthy thought!!!
If they do it properly, this could be a world-class, FIFA approved venue capable of hosting internationals. Oh man, you just made my day!!!!
USMNT anyone?
And good for Tulane; the Superdome is a fantastic venue, well positioned for the NFL and major sports championships/finals. God bless Dave Dixon, though, it wasn't the catalyst for Tulane football he envisioned it to be. Time for them to get back on campus and create some atmosphere for their football.
