So, I made a tray of deviled eggs for an office party, and covered them with foil overnight in the fridge. I woke up to find that the eggs had EATEN THROUGH THE FOIL. Can you guys provide me with a little insight on this?

What did you use in the recipe? I know that tomatoes will do that because of their acidity.

Did you put paprika on them? Salt? Pepper? Maybe a chemical reaction with one of those elements on the aluminum.

Never heard of anything eating through aluminum foil, but eggs can turn green if covered with foil. Has to do with the eggs producing sulfide and reacting with the foil.

If it's acidity, I guess the tablespoon of hot sauce might've done it.

The devil probably did it. Might be a good thing that this happened or it could have made some people sick if the ingredients reacted with the aluminum foil in a bad way.

My jambalaya eats through foil. It has to be a spice issue.

Shoulda thought of that, Chicken. Every spot of that foil that touched the filling was eaten through. BIZARRE.

Let your boss eat the first one. If he dies, don't eat one.

Cover them with Saran Wrap first always. This keeps them fresh.

Then clearly the eggs didnt eat anything.. Your hungry filling ate the foil.
