I think it will be Thibby. I think he is the best candidate for the job, personally.

I am really interested to see what we do with the draft now that we don't have George "Trade draft picks for cash considerations" Shinn as the owner anymore.

It's his to turn down, will have to wait until after NBA finals are over but I would think he has told the Hornets already.

Not necessarily. They can offer him all they want, if Doc Rivers decides to hang it up, he's going to coach the Celtics next season regardless of what the Hornets want to throw his way.

So far sounds like Monty Williams of the Blazers is the official front runner because Thibodeau is the actual front runner but may be hard to get since he's the front runner for every open job right now.

Williams wouldn't be too bad. He's played for some top coaches and I've always liked Nate McMillan.

He would have been hired already if he was the frontrunner. Thibodeau is the guy and will get paid whatever he wants.

I'd be fine with Williams or Thibodeau. I've read a lot of Boston fans who don't seem to think he's a HC type of guy, but an all-time great assistant.

Dunno, like I said I'm fine with either.

Based on what I've read about Thibodeau and Williams, I like both of them. I know Thibodeau is the defensive guy behind the celtics the past 3 years, and Williams has gotten credit for developing Portland's young core. They both bring something that the Hornets can use, and I hope that whichever one is brought in can be successful.

I want Thibodeau, I think the Hornets want Thibodeau, but the Hornets are smart to keep Monty in the mix.

The better question is WTF is going on with the ownership transfer? The delay is messing up more than just the search for a new head coach....and the uncertainty is pissing me off as a fan.

I'd rather have Williams than Tom T
if I had a choice

That's what I've been reading ... Shinn trying to secure jobs for his inept cronies with the new management structure....also that Shinn is trying to manipulate the search for a HC...he needs to carry his arse.

I hate to say this, but I don't see a lot happening in the NBA until after the Finals. Doc Rivers has to decide to retire or stay before TT become's available. There are four or five teams waiting for LeBron to make up his mind where he will play before hiring a coach. I just don't see a lot of coaching dominos falling until those two things happen.
