The government has failed us again thus killing our way of life. Katrina and now this very preventable BP BS fiasco.... The gulf states should demand BP's head on a platter and every dime the company is/will ever be worth.

OH Really? We don't know exactly what happened but it could have been prevented?

It is a very fine line you walk with this stuff. You start screwing too much with the industry and then you lose a huge chunk of your economy in a state that needs it.

It ABSOLUTELY could have been prevented. If we don't have technology to plug a catastrophic hole in the sea floor then we should never have allowed it to be drilled. It's as simple as that.

If our hypocritical government had approved drilling in much safer and reliable places like ANWR, we wouldn't have needed to drill in mile deep water into an unstable sea floor. Yes, the Government is very much reposnsible for this disaster.

That's a ridiculous assertion. We could conserve more oil by improving MPG standards than we could get from either ANWR or Deepwater Horizon. We could take away Little Johnny's car to go to Sonic. We didn't need EITHER of those sites.

This is a failed argument of liberals. As we grow as a nation conservation will help but, it cannot and will not out pace growth. We must have new sources of energy. We should go after safe sources first.

Rex needs to stop listening to liberals who have no knowledge of the economics of energy production and start listening to LSUwag, who knows what he is talking about.

Rex...you don't just wave a magic wand and improve MPG.
