Coaches Ripping on the "decision makers"

Any one got some good articles or quotes from Coaches ripping people about money?
Here is Kim Mulky speaking her part...
LINK
Asked for comments about the latest developments, Baylor Lady Bears basketball coach Kim Mulkey said: "This is a classic example of greed and the all-mighty dollar. It starts with people who make decisions at Nebraska and Texas. For people who talk about academics, this is not about what's in the best interest of each student-athlete or the Big 12. It's about money.
"People at universities always want to talk about academics, but this is not about academics. If it's about academics, Baylor would be included in an invite to the Pac-10. There are people who will be invited to the Pac-10 that Baylor has a better academic university than. "It's about greed, and shame on people at the top. They don't need to preach another day about student-athletes."
Post some links...i'm just waiting for a big name to rip these A$$hats to shreds...

She is right. After this, there is no excuse for not having a playoff.
Posted on 6/11/10 at 10:28 am to BaylorTiger
How much does she get paid?

What is Kim's annual salary?

No, its about her being a hypocrit because of the money she makes. "Yeah, everyone else is soooo greedy. Where's my check?"

All about greed and the almighty dollar huh? This coming from a woman who has a $10 million contract to coach girls basketball.

your coach comes off as an illinformed, bitter hag.
likely only speaking out because this will end up in reduced salary for her, not because she's concerned about student athletes.

She makes less then your football coach...
So what...she's good at what she does...so she gets paid...should she have turned it down?
She should have turned it down you're right...
Inferring that Kim Mulky is a shallow bitch who doesn't believe in the hollow illusion of the student athlete and doesn't care about the fate of the kids involved...because someone offered her lots of money to stay??? Do you think she started out making that much at BU??
You opinion is clearly already formed, as is mine.

So, Texas and these other schools are attractive to other conferences. They are good at what they do. They are getting payed, should they turn that down so Baylor isn't left out in the cold?

Your right and he should. LSU is one of the few programs that operate in the black. Football also pays for every other "Titled" program to exist.

And Texas is good at what they do. Should they turn down top dollar because Baylor's progam isn't up to par?

You have a valid point...but is Kim Mulky tearing 12 schools, all of their programs, and the kids that play/committed to them to shreds in the name of her own self interest? No.
Does Texas/Nebraska have the right to do what they want...yes...is it morally or ethically anywhere close to what College Sports should represent...no.
To get back on topic...your theory revolves around Kim Mulky's quote saying "college sports should be about student athletes and not money" being invalid because she is a money grubbing bitch...which is not true, or, has not proven to be true...she made JACK shite when she started at BU...her point is valid.

I understand what your saying but don't buy it. Coaches screw programs over all the time. Change schools, look for promotions, use interviews to get a raise, threaten departure, and bail when stuff's about to go bad, ala pete carrol.
Coaches do stuff like this all the time. The just aren't on a large scale like the conference wars but are just as guilty of the antics.

And ADs get exercise equipment for free, and in return, they give away premium basketball seating.

Exactly my point. No one is innocent in this crap. Do I believe coaches pull for their kids to suceed? Yes, but they will also look out for what's best for them and their families.

You're right...we "pretend" that College FOOTBALL is different from the Pro's because it's about the game...we turn a blind eye on Saturday's and consider it to be a pure game...of sorts.
But consider some of the other sports getting effected by this...
For example college basketball, track, wrestling, ect...how many of these kids are going into the WNBA, Olympics, WWE...how many are going to be professionals...in some of these sports, at least to my knowledge, the student athlete is real and is going to get F*$&ed
